The study of the charged top-pion decay processes
In the framework of top-color assisted technicolor(TC2) theory, we study the
four decay processes of charged top-pion, i.e.,
, , , , the decay branching ratio of these
modes are calculated. The results show that the main decay channels of charged
top-pion are the tree level modes: and . Light is easier to be detected than heavy one at future
coliders. So, the study provides us some useful information to search for
charged top-pion.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figure
Anomalous magneto-structural behavior of MnBi explained: a path towards an improved permanent magnet
Low-temperature MnBi (hexagonal NiAs phase) exhibits anomalies in the lattice
constants (a, c) and bulk elastic modulus (B) below 100 K, spin reorientation
and magnetic susceptibility maximum near 90 K, and, importantly for
high-temperature magnetic applications, an increasing coercivity (unique to
MnBi) above 180 K. We calculate the total energy and magneto-anisotropy energy
(MAE) versus (a, c) using DFT+U methods. We reproduce and explain all the above
anomalies. We predict that coercivity and MAE increase due to increasing a,
suggesting means to improve MnBi permanent magnets.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
New Zealand Building Project Cost and Its Influential Factors: A Structural Equation Modelling Approach
Construction industry significantly contributes to New Zealand's economic development. However, the delivery of construction projects is usually plagued by cost overruns, which turn potentially successful projects into money-losing ventures, resulting in various other unexpected negative impacts. The objectives of the study were to identify, classify, and assess the impacts of the factors affecting project cost in New Zealand. The proposed research model was examined with structural equation modelling. Recognising the lack of a systematic approach for assessing the influencing factors associated with project cost, this study identified 30 influencing factors from various sources and quantified their relative impacts. The research data were gathered through a questionnaire survey circulated across New Zealand construction industry. A total of 283 responses were received, with a 37% response rate. A model was developed for testing the relationship between project cost and the influential factors. The proposed research model was examined with structural equation modelling (SEM). According to the results of the analysis, market and industry conditions factor has the most significant effect on project cost, while regulatory regime is the second-most significant influencing factor, followed by key stakeholders' perspectives. The findings can improve project cost performance through the identification and evaluation of the cost-influencing factors. The results of such analysis enable industry professionals to better understand cost-related risks in the complex environment
Business Process Analysis and Implementation Strategies of Greening Logistics in Appliances Retail Industry
The whole world ecological environment worsens, and low-carbon economical and sustainable development becomes the general trend. The retail trade as the middle link of the whole economic cycle plays an important role on the relations of each essential factor in the entire economic environment. The concepts of low-carbon economy, and green logistics, and electrical appliances retail trade are discussed and the problems existing in the green logistics of the electrical appliances retail trade are explored. Based on the analysis of the business process and functions of green logistics in the electrical appliances retail trade, the system architecture of green logistics in the electrical appliances retail trade is established. Finally, the strategies and measures of greening logistics in the electrical appliances retail industry are proposed

COVID-19 Infection: Implications for Perioperative and Critical Care Physicians.
Healthcare systems worldwide are responding to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), an emerging infectious syndrome caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus. Patients with COVID-19 can progress from asymptomatic or mild illness to hypoxemic respiratory failure or multisystem organ failure, necessitating intubation and intensive care management. Healthcare providers, and particularly anesthesiologists, are at the frontline of this epidemic, and they need to be aware of the best available evidence to guide therapeutic management of patients with COVID-19 and to keep themselves safe while doing so. Here, the authors review COVID-19 pathogenesis, presentation, diagnosis, and potential therapeutics, with a focus on management of COVID-19-associated respiratory failure. The authors draw on literature from other viral epidemics, treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome, and recent publications on COVID-19, as well as guidelines from major health organizations. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the evidence currently available to guide management of critically ill patients with COVID-19
Hydromechanical couplings in the clay matrix of argilite: some methodological aspects of the atomistic-to-continuum upscaling
International audienceClays are ubiquitous in civil engineering applications, from deep geological disposal of radioactive waste to petroleum engineering, all of which require a good knowledge of their mechanical properties. Swelling clays are highly sensitive to the relative humidity: increases of water content can induce significant volume increases, as well as variations of the elastic stiffness. A faithful description of the behavior of clayey materials must therefore account for the hydromechanical couplings within clays.Hydromechanical couplings within the clay matrix of argilite were investigated numerically following a multi-scale approach. At the smallest scale, the clay layers of Na-montmorillonite are characterized through Monte Carlo molecular simulations. The constitutive law of the particle (a stack of clay layers) is then derived through rheological models. Finally, the clay matrix is represented as a polycrystal made of clay particles and homogenized by means of numerical non-linear continuum mechanics methods.Throughout our investigations, it was realized that the atomistic-to-continuum scale transition raised non-trivial theoretical questions. In this poster, we propose to show how the output of molecular simulations can be rigorously fed into a continuum mechanics simulation. Although the issues raised in this poster are illustrated on the upscaling of Na-montmorillonite, they are of a methodological nature and have a much wider range of applications
