Quantitative isoperimetric inequalities in H^n
In the Heisenberg group H^n, we prove quantitative isoperimetric inequalities
for Pansu's spheres, that are known to be isoperimetric under various
assumptions. The inequalities are shown for suitably restricted classes of
competing sets and the proof relies on the construction of sub-calibrations
Extremal polynomials in stratified groups
We introduce a family of extremal polynomials associated with the prolongation of a stratified nilpotent Lie algebra. These polynomials tre related to a new algebraic characterization of abnormal sub-Riemannian extremals in stratified nilpotent Lie groups. They satisfy a set of remarkable structure relations that are used to integrate the adjoint equations, in both normal and abnormal case
Phenomenology at the LHC of composite particles from strongly interacting Standard Model fermions via four-fermion operators of NJL type
A new physics scenario shows that four-fermion operators of
Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type have a strong-coupling UV fixed point, where
composite fermions (bosons ) form as bound states of three (two) SM
elementary fermions and they couple to their constituents via effective contact
interactions at the composite scale (TeV). We
present a phenomenological study to investigate such composite particles at the
LHC by computing the production cross sections and decay widths of composite
fermions in the context of the relevant experiments at the LHC with
collisions at TeV and TeV.
Systematically examining all the different composite particles and the
signatures with which they can manifest, we found a vast spectrum of composite
particles that has not yet been explored at the LHC. Recasting the recent
CMS results of the resonant channel , we find that the composite fermion mass below 4.25 TeV is
excluded for / = 1. We further highlight the region of parameter
space where this specific composite particle can appear using 3 ab,
expected by the High-Luminosity LHC, computing 3 and 5 contour plots
of its statistical significance.Comment: To appear in EPJC. This revised version expands the search for
composite fermion F considering all its possible flavors and topologies and
highlighting the signatures not yet investigated at LH
Extremal curves in nilpotent Lie groups
We classify extremal curves in free nilpotent Lie groups. The classification
is obtained via an explicit integration of the adjoint equation in Pontryagin
Maximum Principle. It turns out that abnormal extremals are precisely the
horizontal curves contained in algebraic varieties of a specific type. We also
extend the results to the nonfree case.Comment: 30 pages, final versio

Influence of coaches on sources of enjoyment in youth basketball
We examined the influence of coaches on sources of enjoyment of youth basketball players accounting for differences in chronological age, biological maturity status and years of training experience. Fifty-eight male basketball players aged 9.5 to 15.5 years were considered from a youth club. Three coaches supervising yearly age group teams from under 11 to under 15 teams were considered. Variables included chronological age, estimated age at peak height velocity, years of training experience, stature, body mass and sitting height by anthropometry; Sources of Enjoyment in Youth Sport Questionnaire was used. Multilevel modelling was used to partition variance between groups and control the influence of age and maturity status on enjoyment. Variance partition coefficients derived from multilevel null models showed a substantial variation by coach for age, maturity status and body dimensions. For the sources of enjoyment dimensions it was apparent an influence of the coach mostly for positive parental involvement. Controlling separately for age and somatic maturity status category, substantial variation by coach became apparent for self-referenced competencies and affiliation with peers, and the influence of coach was removed for positive parental involvement. After controlling variation associated to the coach the influence of age and maturity status remained present. The influence of the coach in the sources of enjoyment in adolescent basketball was apparent in adolescent basketball players. Furthermore, coaches' influence became more apparent after accounting for age and biological maturity status differences between players.
