DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF RP-HPLC METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF AZILSARTAN MEDOXOMIL AND CHLORTHALIDONE IN BULK AND TABLET DOSAGE FORM
Objective: A simple, precise, accurate method was developed for the simultaneous estimation of azilsartan and chlorthalidone in bulk and tablet dosage form by RP-HPLC technique. Methods: Acetonitrile and water in the ratio of (70:30) pH 2.8 used as mobile phase run through (Cosmosil C18 (4.6ID x 250 mm, Particle size: 5 micron) column with a flow rate of 0.9 ml/min. The temperature of the column oven was maintained at 30 °C. Wavelength was selected 244 nm. Stock and working solutions were prepared by using the diluents water and acetonitrile in the ratio of 50:50. Runtime was fixed to 9 min. Results: Chlorthalidone and azilsartan were eluted at 2.02 and 3.92 with good resolution the plate count, tailing factor and all system suitability parameters are within ICH range. Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone were found to be linear low in concentration range of 80-400μg/ ml and 25-125μg/ ml respectively in the linearity study, regression equation and coefficient of correlation for Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone were found to be (y = 28695x+15397 r²=0.995) and (y=13444+27405 r² = 0.996) Percentage recovery for both Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone was found in range of 99.89%-99.96% indicating accuracy of the proposed work. Assay of the tablet was performed and found as 100.15%.Conclusion: All the parameters were within the ICH guidelines, and the method was economical and simple as retention times were less than in literature and decreased run time
Assessment of the level of serum uric acid in patients of pre-eclampsia and their comparison with levels in normotensive pregnancy
Background: Pre-eclampsia is one of the major causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. There are various parameters to evaluate pre-eclampsia. S.uric acid levels is one of the important biochemical markers in pre-eclampsia. The objective of current study is to compare the levels of S.uric acid in pre-eclamptic patients and normotensive patients. Methods: A total of 256 antenatal patients, consisting of two groups, 128 patients in each group diagnosed with pre-eclampsia (either earlier or during examination) and 128 control antenatal patients in their third trimester were considered. Both the groups were compared in relation to age, parity, socio economic status and geographical variations. Blood sample (venous blood) of about 5ml was drawn from the ante cubital vein of the patient under all aseptic precautions to estimate S.uric acid levels. Results: The observation of present study shows that the level of serum uric acid is significantly higher in the cases of pre-eclampsia. The value of S.uric acid increases with the severity of pre-eclampsia.Conclusions: It is concluded from this study that high levels of uric acid are found in the serum of pre-eclamptic cases as compared to normotensive cases of the study population. The levels of uric acid are higher in severe cases as compared to the levels in mild and moderate cases
Study of Structural, Magnetic and Electrical properties on Ho - substituted BiFeO3
The polycrystalline Bi1-xHoxFeO3 (x=0, 0.05, 0.1) compounds were synthesized
by conventional solid-state route. Rietveld refinement reveals that all the
compounds were stabilized in rhombohedral structure with R3c (IUCr No. 161)
space group. A competing ferro and anti-ferro magnetic interaction was observed
in Ho-substituted compounds. A change in the Fe-O-Fe bond-angle and Fe-O bond
distance increase the Neel Transition temperature with increasing Ho
concentration. The appearance of peak in imaginary part of impedance (Z") for
each concentration and shifting of this peak with temperature towards higher
frequency side indicated that the presence of electric relaxations. Correlated
Barrier Hopping model (CBH) was employed to explain the frequency and
temperature dependence of ac conductivity and the mechanism of transport in the
material BFO and Ho substituted BFO. Density of states near Fermi level was
calculated by using the ac conductivity data
