    東京情報大学では千葉市との地域連携協定を締結している。その一環で本学総合情報学科システム開発コースの河野ゼミを中心に、若者視点による花見川区の魅力発信プロジェクト「花見川どっとcom!」を推進している。本稿では、プロジェクトの活動状況、運用体制、今後の課題や展望に関して報告を行った。具体的には、情報大プロジェクトチームの編成、「花見川どっとcom!」Facebookページの運用、区内の高校生に対する情報リテラシー教育、区・高校・大学の連携体制作りについて活動を行った。その結果、高校・区と連携したFacebookページの運用体制はほぼ整備され、アクセス数も徐々に増えつつある。今後は、運用体制の強化、地域活性化の評価基準の検討を目指し継続的に活動を進めていく。Tokyo University of Information Sciences and Chiba-city concluded an inter-regional association agreement. The members (students and professors) of Kawano seminar in system development course promote community branding project" Hanamigawa.com!" for Hanamigawaku in Chiba-city. In this paper, the activity condition of the project, the operational structure, and action plan are reported. Concretely, our activities are organization of project team in TUIS, operation of Facebook page for this project, information literacy education for high school students, and development of operational structure among public administration, high school, and university. As a result, operational structure of Facebook page which cooperated with high school and public administration was developed mostly. Future works are enhancement of operational structure and consideration of assessment about local revitalization. We will continue to perform long span activity for community branding in Hanamigawa-ku

    The main objective of this report is to describe the activities of a non-governmental organization(NGO), the Hiroshima Semipalatinsk Project (hereafter the Hiro-Semi Project or the Project), that sup-ports medical aid to those who were exposed to radiation from the nuclear bomb tests in Kazakhstan.The Project has carried out medical cooperation activities five times and dispatched medical missions ofdoctors, nurses, and medical technicians four times. In this report, we attempt to show the purpose of the foundation of the Hiro-Semi Project. In addition, we show the final goal of the Project. We also reporton the medical activities of the Hiro-Semi Project and touch upon the medical items provided by theHiro-Semi Project and the medical examinations from the medical missions sent by the Project. As isgenerally known, medical cooperation is an important part of international cooperation. For example,the activities of Medecins Sans Frontieres Japonand The Association of Medical Doctors of Asia arewell known. It is possible for those who are not medical doctors to conduct medical cooperation. In fact,the Hiro-Semi Project plans and conducts medical aid and dispatches medical missions. The mostimportant matter is to establish a strong cooperative relationship with specialists or experts in that field.The Hiro-Semi Project endeavors to establish such a relationship. As people concerned with internation-al cooperation, we should pay more attention to the activities of medical cooperation done by grass rootsmovements, keeping in mind that there are many approaches to international cooperation.     Preparation and Observation of Fresh-frozen Sections of the Green Fluorescent Protein Transgenic Mouse Head

    Hard tissue decalcification can cause variation in the constituent protein characteristics. This paper describes a method of preparating of frozen mouse head sections so as to clearly observe the nature of the constituent proteins. Frozen sections of various green fluorescent protein (GFP) transgenic mouse heads were prepared using the film method developed by Kawamoto and Shimizu. This method made specimen dissection without decalcification possible, wherein GFP was clearly observed in an undamaged state. Conversely, using the same method with decalcification made GFP observation in the transgenic mouse head difficult. This new method is suitable for observing GFP marked cells, enabling us to follow the transplanted GFP marked cells within frozen head sections

    The development of carbonate-containing apatite/collagen composite for osteoconductive apical barrier material.

    The current report describes the properties of a new apical barrier material formulated from carbonate-containing apatite (CAp) and collagen. CAp particles of around 50 nm were deposited on reconstituted collagen fibers. CAp/col with about 60 wt % CAp (corresponding to apatite content of bone) was obtained after 1 day of calcification. CAp content increased up to about 80 wt % in a 15-day calcification reaction. CAp/col was composed of fine calcified collagen fibers. The crystallinity and Ca/PO(4) ratio of CAp were comparable to those of bone apatite. The mixture of CAp/col and saline reached a pH of about 9. The optimum powder-to-liquid ratio (P/L) to set into a root canal was determined to be 1.2. Furthermore, the mixture (P/L = 1.2) condensed in a root canal was liquid permeable.     Importance of absorbable surgical sutures for the prevention of stitch abscess after surgery in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma

    To elucidate the significance of absorbable surgical sutures in the occurrence of stitch abscess after surgery in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The subjects were 251 patients who underwent excision and/or reconstruction and/or neck dissection for oral SCC using absorbable surgical sutures. Detection rates and characteristics of patients with stitch abscess were retrospectively evaluated by comparing between our present and previous data. There was only one stitch abscess among the 251 patients. A significant difference in the incidence of stitch abscess was found between the present data and our previous data. Of course, no significant correlations were found between the occurrence of stitch abscess using absorbable surgical sutures and the various factors seen in our previous analysis. A complete switch of surgical sutures from silk to absorbable surgical sutures is needed for surgery in patients with oral SCC
