Two recent papers are considered in which solitary travelling-wave solutions to the transformed reduced Ostrovsky equation are presented. It is shown that these solutions are disguised versions of previously known solutions
Comparison of the Physical Education and Sports Teacher Candidates’ Professional Anxieties with Other Teacher Candidates
This research was conducted in order to examine the professional anxieties of teacher candidates who are studying in Physical Education and Sports, Music, Class, Turkish and Art Teacher Education. In the research 300 candidate teachers were determined by stratified sampling method and the Professional anxieties scale which was developed by Cabı and Yalçınalp (2013), was applied to these 300 candidate teachers with face to face interview method. The scale consists of 8 sub dimensions and 45 items. The cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was .94 for this study. In the evaluation of the data the significance level was taken as .05. According to findings; The total anxiety scores of the teacher candidates and the assignment anxiety subscale scores were compared according to their ages and the difference between them was statistically significant (p<0.05). When the total professional anxiety scores of the teacher candidates were compared according to gender, a significant difference was found (p<0.05). When the personal developmental centered anxiety subscale total scores of the teacher candidates were compared accordingtodepartment of education,a meaningful difference was found between Physical Education and Sports teaching and Turkish Education teaching departments (p<0.05). As a result, the economic centered anxieties and appointment anxieties of Physical Education and Sports teacher candidates were different from the other candidates. Keywords: Physical Education, Professional anxieties, Teacher candidat
Comment on “Application of (G′/G)-expansion method to travelling-wave solutions of three nonlinear evolution equation" [Comput Fluids 2010;39;1957-63]
In a recent paper [Abazari R. Application of (G′ G )-expansion method to travelling wave solutions of three nonlinear evolution equation. Computers & Fluids 2010;39:1957–1963], the (G′/G)-expansion method was used to find travelling-wave solutions to three nonlinear evolution equations that arise in the mathematical modelling of fluids. The author claimed that the method delivers more general forms of solution than other methods. In this note we point out that not only is this claim false but that the delivered solutions are cumbersome and misleading. The extended tanh-function expansion method, for example, is not only entirely equivalent to the (G′/G)-expansion method but is more efficient and user-friendly, and delivers solutions in a compact and elegant form
The Effect of Sport on the Level of Positivity and Well-Being in Adolescents Engaged in Sport Regularly
Sport, an element of universal culture, is a prominent tool that brings individuals with different languages, races and religions together. Sport is generally defined as activities that positively affect the psychological health of people and bring about social and moral benefits besides its physical benefits. Mental well-being is defined as the individual's awareness of their own abilities, their abilities to overcome stress in life, being productive and useful in business life and contributing to community via the their ability (WHO, 2004). Positivity is defined as the main determinant of subjective well-being and is expressed as a tendency to evaluate all aspects of life that is already good. This study aimed to investigate whether sport is effective on mental well-being and positivity. In the study pre-test, post-test experimental design with control group was used and “Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being (WEMWBS)” scale developed by Tennant et al. (2007), which was adapted into Turkish by Keldal (2015) and “The Positivity Scale” scale developed by Caprara and et al. (2012), and adapted into Turkish by Çıkrıkçı, Çiftçi and Gençdoğan (2015) were used as the data collection tools. When the original form of mental wellbeing scale compared with its version adapted into Turkish are compared, the reliability coefficient Cronbach Alpha was found to be as .92. On the other hand, the internal consistency coefficient for the Positivity Scale was found to be .75 and its test-retest reliability coefficient was found to be .91. As parametric assumptions are met, Variance Analysis, Tukey test, Paired-Samples t-test was used. For the analysis of data obtained through counting, Chi Square was used and level of significance was taken as 0.05. The study group is composed by forming 3 groups of 20 students from 10th grade students. The groups were equalled in terms of some variables like age, gender, sports background etc. The groups were called as the sports activities group, social activities group and the control group. While the participants in the experimental group were engaged in regular and scheduled sports activities including training and contests, the participants in the social activities group engaged in regular social activities. The participants in the control group led their routine lives. After a period of 10 weeks, the tests given at the beginning of the study were administrated again, and test scores of the students in all three groups were compared.According to the results of the study, when the pre-test and post-test positivity scores of the individuals in all three groups were compared, the differences between the groups were not found to be insignificant (p>0.05). When post-test mental well-being scores were compared, the difference was found significant (p0.05). There was a decrease in the positivity scores of the control group from the pre-test to post-test and difference was found significant (p0.05)
Beden Eğitimi Öğretmenlerinin Öğretmen Yetiştirme Programına İlişkin Görüşleri
The purpose of this study was to determine physical education (PE) teachers’ opinions on the efficacy of Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) Program. Within the scope of the study, out of 132 PE teachers, sixty-six teachers working as PE teachers, who graduated from the School of Sport Sciences and Technology (SSST), Hacettepe University in 1994-2006, were accessed. Focus group interviews were conducted with 16 PE teachers from the research group. Data analysis was made through frequency and percentage calculations and the content analysis method. When the opinions of PE teachers were analyzed, it was seen that the usage of the courses related to general culture, pedagogic content knowledge, and field content knowledge were higher level and the courses related to teaching profession knowledge always worked for them. However, teachers stated that the contents of courses related to general culture should be changed according to the KPSS examination and practical applications need to be emphasized in courses related to field content knowledge.

As a result of the research, the constructivist learning environments of 17th universities 3rd and 4th grade teacher candidates were evaluated in terms of age, gender and grade variables. According to this, there was no significant difference when the average scores of constructivist learning environments were compared in terms of age and class levels of physical education and sports teacher candidates. In comparison with gender, female teacher candidates were found to have a more constructive learning environment
Meromorphic solutions of nonlinear ordinary differential equations
Exact solutions of some popular nonlinear ordinary differential equations are
analyzed taking their Laurent series into account. Using the Laurent series for
solutions of nonlinear ordinary differential equations we discuss the nature of
many methods for finding exact solutions. We show that most of these methods
are conceptually identical to one another and they allow us to have only the
same solutions of nonlinear ordinary differential equations
