Organometalic carbosilane polymers containing vanadium and their preparation
The present invention concerns a new organometallic polymer material containing in part a vanadium-siloxane linkage (V-0-Si), which has excellent resistance to heat and oxidation and a high residue ratio after high temperature treatment in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, for example, nitrogen, argon, helium, ammonia, or hydrogen
On Distinguishing Non-Standard Interactions from Radiative Corrections in Neutrino-Electron Scattering
We present a contribution of higher order to neutrino-electron scattering
that is a charged-current counterpart of both the anomalous axial-vector
triangle and possible non-standard interaction contributions. It arises in the
standard model with massive neutrinos, and renormalizes the nondiagonal
axial-vector form-factor at low energies. We show that, due to the small size
of radiative corrections, the neutrino-electron scattering still provides a
discovery potential for some of the non-standard neutrino interactions proposed
in the literature.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, change in title and context of the consideration,

Neutrino Masses and Mixings in a Minimal SO(10) Model
We consider a minimal formulation of SO(10) Grand Unified Theory wherein all
the fermion masses arise from Yukawa couplings involving one 126 and one 10 of
Higgs multiplets. It has recently been recognized that such theories can
explain, via the type-II seesaw mechanism, the large \nu_\mu - \nu_\tau mixing
as a consequence of b-tau unification at the GUT scale. In this picture,
however, the CKM phase \delta lies preferentially in the second quadrant, in
contradiction with experimental measurements. We revisit this minimal model and
show that the conventional type-I seesaw mechanism generates phenomenologically
viable neutrino masses and mixings, while being consistent with CKM CP
violation. We also present improved fits in the type-II seesaw scenario and
suggest fully consistent fits in a mixed scenario.Comment: 27 pages, 13 eps figures, revtex4; references added, some minor

Filling-dependence of the zigzag Hubbard ladder for a quasi-one-dimensional superconductor Pr_2Ba_4Cu_7O_{15-delta}
We investigate filling dependence of the zigzag Hubbard ladder, using density
matrix renormalization group method. We illustrate the chemical-potential vs.
electron-density and spin gap vs. electron density curves, which reflect
characteristic properties of the electron state. On the basis of the obtained
phase diagram, we discuss the connection to a novel quasi-one-dimensional
superconductor PrBaCuO.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures, fig.4 is adde
Prospects for observations of high-energy cosmic tau neutrinos
We study prospects for the observations of high-energy cosmic tau neutrinos
(E \geq 10^6 GeV) originating from proton acceleration in the cores of active
galactic nuclei. We consider the possibility that vacuum flavor neutrino
oscillations induce a tau to muon neutrino flux ratio greatly exceeding the
rather small value expected from intrinsic production. The criterias and event
rates for under water/ice light Cerenkov neutrino telescopes are given by
considering the possible detection of downgoing high-energy cosmic tau
neutrinos through characteristic double shower events.Comment: 10 pages, Revtex, 3 figures included with eps
