    This paper describe results of the experiment of resistance from four different types of fishing boat hull in Indonesia such as U-bottom, round bottom, round flat bottom and akatsuki. The objectives of the research are to estimate the value of the resistance from different type of fishing boat hull, and (2) to estimate the type of hull which is the highest and lowest resistance.The research was carried out in the flume tank by using the model of fishing boat hull with scale 1 : 40.The four different types of hull were investigate in the water flow. The data of resistance were taken when the fishing boat in stable condition, heaving, pitching and moving to the right and left. The 10 data were taken from each different types of hull.The results of the experiment shows that the akatsuki type is the highest resistance, followed by U-bottom, round flat bottom and round bottom. The percentage of resistance from each type of hull shows that the akatsuki 0,19% higher than U-bottom. While the resistance of U-bottom 8,05% higher than round flat bottom, and the resistance round flat bottom 3,23% higher than round bottom

    The purpose of this research is to know dimension size of some construction parts of fishing boat in Muara Angke Fishing Landing Port (PPI Muara Angke, North Jakarta) and to know its compliment to the rule of Indonesian Classification Beareau (BKI). The method of case study and simple statistic are applied in this research. The result shows that from 17 (seventeen) samples of fishing boat mostly do not comply with the BKI rules. Boat builder mostly used their own method that has given from previous generation to build a boat compare to using BKI rules as standard

    Directorate Fisheries Business License is a regulator for fishing business license of fishing vessel more than 30 GT and/or 90 HP machine power and over 12 mils sea operations area. The implementation of fishing business license based on the decree of Minister of Marine Affairs Fisheries number PER.05/MEN/2008 and number PER.12/MEN/2009. These regulations are a tool to fullfill fishing business necessity. Therefore, it is important to design a development performance strategy of fisheries business license. The design, using Balanced Scorecard approach, based on 4 perspectives, there are learning and growth, internal business processes, financial and customers (Kaplan and Norton 2000, Gaspersz 2002, Niven 2003). Those strategies are expected to be long term objectives. These objectives divided into 4 perspectives. All the objectives have cause and effect linkages and designed into strategic map for Directorate Fisheries Business License. Each of these objectives has standards, targets and initiatives in order to achieve the objectives and targets too

    The utilization of pineapple leaf materialfiber for an alternative fishing gear is a step of development to create eco-friendly fishing gear material. The pineapple leaf fib er was observed based on mechanical (breaking strength and elongation value) and physical characteristics (water contents and specific weight) to learn about force of its fiber as natural material for the fishing gear. There were two methods used in this study, such as concentrates factor and soaking time in chitosan. Chitosan concentrates and soaking times in respectively were 1, 1.5, 2% and 15, 30, 45 minutes. The test of mechanical and physical characteristic had been done in Engineering and Design of Wood Building Laboratory, Department of Engineering, Forest Product, Forestry Faculty, Bogor Agricultural University, then for the breaking strength and elongation value used Universal Testing Machine (UTM). The data were analyzed by Completely Randomize Factorial Design (CRFD). The results showed that pineapple leaf fiber consist of 1.095% of water contents and 1.005 for specific weight. Statistical analysis proved that breaking strength value of pineapple leaf fibers was affected by soaking time in chitosan. The best result of the breaking strength test was when the fiber soaked in chitosan with concentrate 1 % during 45 minutes with amount of breaking strength and elongation 34.84 kgf and 0.60 mm

    Speargun is productive fishing gear,spearfishermen catch numerous reef fishes such as yellow tail, snapper grouper,andother fish species.Spearfishermen dive to spear fishes. Air supply diving is common in spearfishing, therefore spearfishermen facing a huge health risk. Diving safety standard should be applied by spearfishermen to prevent various diving diseases.Research objectives wereto determine the Karimunjawa spearfishing status by the CCRF perspective and describe job safety analysis.Fishing gear used by fishermen consists of a gun made of wood with a rubber strap to hurl an arrow made of rust resistant metal.Coral reef is spear fisheries main fishing ground, which is vulnerable ecosystem therefore spearfishing has to carry out carefully. Spearfishing operations is a high-risk activities, fishermen have to be very careful and perform diving safety standards so that the potential risks can be avoided. Karimunjawa spear fisheries, in the CCRF perspective point of view, denote fisheries that support the CCRF concept, despite of several aspects that need to take notice of seriously. Among them isthe fishermen awareness to comply and perform code of conduct and safety standards in the fishing operations and prudence in carrying out fishing operations in the coral reef ecosystems

    Licensing process of fisheries business is conducted on Directorate Fishing Business Service - Ministry of Marine Affair and Fisheries (MMAF), which is the main actor of fisheries business license (Yuniarta 2009). Several constraints of licensing process are found in this research. There are lateness of licensing process in some regions, minimum research development of licensing process and duration of each stage and over all of the stage of licensing process, so that required performance measurement of the directorate. The purpose of this research is measuring performance of Directorate Fishing Business Service based on balanced scorecard approach, that assess on four perspectives, there are learn and growth, business internal process, financial and customer. The result of these perspectives on Directorate Fishing Business Service performance is 3.34, therefore the directorate needs a strategy to increase the performance

    Study on stability of a purseiner, which is based in Lampulo, has never been carried out till now. The objective of the research is to analized quality of stability of a purseiner which is based in Lampulo Fishing Port based on its real load distributions. Stability analysis was carried out on some load distributions variations, such as: 1) Condition 1; departure (100% fuel-0% load) ; 2) Con-dition 2, 3 and 4; arrival from fishing ground (fuel remain 20%, 25%, 20% and load of fish 100%, 70%, 50% ) and 3) Condition 5; arrival from fishing ground (55% fuel-100% load). Krylov method combines with trapezoidal approximation was used for analyzing. The results show that in all load conditions, this purseseiner show a good stability with the highest GZ maximum value in condition 4 (GZ max 0.63 m) and the lowest is in conditon 5 (GZ mas 0.52). Comparing to the IMO reco-mendation on stability, all load variations above are comply with the recomendations

    This paper discusses on the static stability performance of a fishing vessel operated static fishing gear. A fishing boat named as KM PSP 01 was chosen as an object of this research. The objectives of this research were to analyze the static stability performance and work comfortability aboard the vessel. The result showed that KM PSP 01 was good enough for operating static fishing gear, the static stability of the boat is considered to be good with enough righting arm to upright the boat after roll to certain maximum angle. Hull of the boat considered as slim. Short rolling period i.e. 3.467 sec. considered as not so comfortable for working on deck but still safe in fishing operation
