Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran Biologi Berbasis Pendekatan Saintifik pada Konsep Ekosistem Bagi Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama
The study was a research and development aimed at developing learning package based on scientific approach, which was valid, practical, and effective for Junior High School's students. The development procedure used in the study was based on Thiagarajan's model or 4-D model consisted of four phases, namely defining, designing, developing, and dissemination. The development learning package based on scientific approach had been validated by the experts and practitioners and had been revised; thus, it obtained feasible result to be used. The results revealed that the learning package based on scientific approach was valid, practical, and effective. The learning package that were RPP, student's book, and student's worksheet was valid due to the extremely valid category, practical because it was in completely conducted and effective as well because it had met the criteria of effective
Analysis of Phenols and Antioxidants Infused Sappan Wood (Caesalpiniasappan L.)
Caesalpinia sappan L. is one of Caesalpiniaceae family found in Indonesia and a health drink that is often
consumed by society at large in Indonesia. This study aims to theanalysis of phenol and flavonoid infuse a sappan wood
(Caesalpiniasappan L.) and determine the activities of the wooden cup remedy by using DPPH (1,1-picrylhydrazyldiphenyl-
2). Sappanwood extracted using distilled solvent was conducted using infuse for 15 minutes at a temperature of
900C. Extracts infuse obtained analyzed qualitatively using the reactive dye and quantitative determination using
spectrophotometry UV-Vis at a wavelength of 730 nm for analysis of phenol in total and 430 nm for analysis
flavonoidtotal average level of phenols total of 554,86 mgGAE/L samples and flavonoid total of 1,0377 mgQAE/L samples.
Samples wood sappan made with a concentration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% with the addition of DPPH by using a
UV -Visible spectrophotometer. The results showed that the samples of the sappan wood 6% have the highest antioxidant
activity at a wavelength of 513.1 nm
THE DEVELOPMENT OF INQUIRY BASED VERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY PRACTICUM GUIDANCE TO INCREASE COGNITIVE AND PROCESS SKILL OF BIOLOGY STUDENTS
The study was a Research and Development that was conducted to produce a valid,
practical, and effective Inquiry-based Vertebrate Zoology Practicum Guidance. The
study was conducted at Biology Laboratory in Mathematics and Natural Science
Faculty of Universitas Negeri Makassar. The subjects were students in Class Biology
Science (n=33) as second semester students in academic year 2012/2013. The
development of practicum guidance in this study referred to Dick & Carey’s
Development Model which consists of 10 stages as follows: (1) Identify
Instructional Goals, (2) Conduct Goal Analysis, (3) Identify Entry Behaviours and
Characteristics, (4) Write Performance Objectives, (5) Develop Criteria-Referenced
Test Items, (6) Develop Instructional Strategy, (7) Develop and Select Instructional
Materials; (8) Design and Conduct Formative Evaluation; (9) Design and Conduct
summative Evaluation, and (10) Revise Instructional process. The product that had
been developed then processed with analysis of validity, practicality, and
effectiveness. Based on the result of analysis, Inquiry-Based Vertebrate Zoology
Practicum Guidance which had been developed was found to be valid, practical, and
effective. Validation result showed that the practicum guidance was included in valid
category with validation value of 4.19. The practicality were measured by using
observation sheet of practicum guidance feasibility, and the result showed that the
aspect of syntax was included in medium category, social interaction in very high
category, and reaction principle in high category. Meanwhile, effectiveness of the
practicum guidance were measured by using student’s activity observation sheet and
practicum final test, the result showed that the average percentage of practicum time
is in accordance with the percentage of ideal time and tolerance intervals time. The
percentage of students who can pass vertebrate zoology practicum test and final
course test is 96.97% and 89.19%, respectively
LOCAL WISDOM OF BAUMATA SOCIETY IN KUPANG IN CONSIDERING THE NATURE PERSERVATION
A research on local wisdom in the nature preservation of Baumata has been conducted from
February to March 2014. It held in the Village of East Baumata, Taebenu Sub district, Kupang
regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in order to know what is the local wisdom owned by
Baumata villages in the preservation of nature and environment around them. The method used
in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data is taken by interviews and direct observation.
Researchers explore the village of East Baumata to observe and conduct the interviews with
community consisting of the village, traditional leaders, healers (shaman) and ordinary people.
The results obtained from this study is clearly wisdom view of local communities Baumata in the
preservation of nature, namely the presence of fine custom ('adat sanctions') related actions that
damage the environment. Besides that all the families which surveyed, were seen planting and
maintaining plants for food, medicine and ornamental plants in the yard. One other interesting
thing is all the families surveyed had livestock in the household and their concepts and apply the
principles of the triangle of life "mansian - muit - nasi, na bua" which means humans, livestock,
and forests is an integral and mutual dependency
Identifikasi Perifiton sebagai Penentu Kualitas Air pada Tambak Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus)
Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang merupakan penelitian survei yang menggambarkan tentang objek yang diteliti yakni jenis perifiton yang ada ditambak ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) di kabupaten pangkep serta mengukur parameter kualitas air meliputi parameter fisika-kimia. Fisika yakni suhu, salinitas, dan kekeruhan. Kimia yakni pH dan amonia. Dalam keadaan seimbang perifiton yang tumbuh akan hidup dengan baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 2 tambak dengan cara meletakkan substrat yakni kaca preparat selama 7 hari pada tambak setelah itu dilakukan identifikasi jenis perifiton di laboratorium mikrobiologi FMIPA UNM dengan menggunakan mikroskop optilab. Kemudian mengidentifikasinya dengan mencocokkan dengan buku identifikasi. Jenis-jenis perifiton yang ditemukan pada tambak ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) di kabupaten pangkep yakni Amaphora Asterionella, Navicula, Nitzchia, Closterium, Mikrospora, Mougeotia, Rhizoclonium, Zignema, Tribonema
Adherence and Pathogenicity Assay of Vibrio Harveyi in Tiger Shrimp (Penaeus Monodon) Larvae for Screening Biocontrol Agent
Rifampicin-resistant marker was employed as a reporter to detect the adherence and colonization of V. harveyi in shrimp larvae. Vibrio harveyi P1B and YA32.2 were isolated from dead shrimp larvae in Besuki, Northern Coast of East Java, while V. harveyi HB3, was isolated from pristine sea water in Pacitan, Southern Coast of East Java. Vibrio metschnikovii used as biocontrol agent was isolated from healthy shrimp larvae in Serang, West Java. Spontaneous mutation was conducted to generate V. harveyi P1B, YA32.2 and HB3 resistant to rifampicin. These mutants exhibited similar survival ability to their parental (wild type) strains. Significant larval mortality was observed in shrimp larvae inoculated with YA32.2 than that of larvae inoculated with P1B. Larvae inoculated with HB3 showed the lowest mortality. Bacterial cell count of Vibrio Rf* in dead larvae were 103-104 cells/larvae. Isolates of Vibrio metschnikovii Z and M as biocontrol candidates effectively reduced the growth and adherence ability of YA32.2 to shrimp larvae. Larval mortality in rearing water inoculated simultaneously with YA32.2 and V. metschnikovii was lower than the one inoculated with YA32.2 alone. Therefore, Vibrio metschnikovii Z or M could be developed as an effective probiotic or biocontrol agent for V. harveyi in shrimp hatcheries
Practicality Test of the HOTS-Oriented Module on Biology Material for the Second Semester of Grade X in Senior High School/Madrasah Aliyah
This study is research and development. This study aims to obtain a practical HOTS-oriented module based on the implementation of the module and the response of teachers and students as practitioners. The research instruments used were module implementation observation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Practical data collection is carried out by providing implementation observation sheets to observers and response questionnaires are given to teachers and students. The results showed that the implementation of the module had an average score of 4.59 with the category carried out very well, the results of the teacher response questionnaire analysis had an average value of 4.58 with the practical category, and the results of the student response questionnaire analysis had an average value of 4.54 with the practical category. The conclusion of this study is that the HOTS-oriented module on biology material in the even semester of class X high school / MA developed has met the implementation criteria with the category of very well implemented and the response of teachers and students shows that the developed module is practically used in learning
Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran Biologi Berbasis Inkuiri pada Materi Sistem Ekskresi Untuk Kelas XI SMA Negeri 10 Bulukumba
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) yang mengacu pada pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model 4D. Pengumpulan data dilakukan sebagaimana tahapan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model 4D yaitu Define adalah melakukan investigasi awal, Design adalah mendesain perangkat pembelajaran dan instrument penelitian, Develop adalah melakukan validasi dan revisi perangkat pembeljaran serta Disseminate adalah melakukan sosialisasi hasil pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah (i) Pengembangan perangakat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri pada materi sistem ekskresi dilakukan dengan empat tahapan utama yaitu: tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design), tahap pengembangan (develop), dan tahap penyebaran (disseminate). (ii) Perangkat pembelajaran biologi berbasis inkuiri pada materi sistem ekskresi yang dikembangkan terdiri atas RPP, BPD, LKPD, dan THB. Hasil validasi dan uji coba menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran tersebut memenuhi kriteria kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan.
