    The Establishment of Child Health Cadre as Prevention for Foodborne Disease at Primary Schools

    Personal health, including health on school-age children comes from food intake. But often, these foods can cause health problems, such as foodborne diseases. A quasi-experimental study was conducted to monitor the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (CHL) of children at school through the establishment and evaluation of child health cadres. Phases of activities are the selection of child health cadres (10 children), training and determination of the child that will be monitored (40 children), preliminary assessment on the monitored CHL, two-month monitoring and final assessment. Monitored CHL are the CHL associated with foodborne diseases such as clean nails, snacks habit, habit of bringing lunch, and hand-washing habit in schools. Descriptive analysis showed that there were differences between the CHL school children before and after the monitoring conducted by child health cadres, however the results of the Chi-Square Test indicated that only the habit of bringing lunch that yield a significant change (p=0.01). Evaluation of the routine activity showed that the average cadre activity on monitoring is 75.7% and the average of completeness monitoring books is 91.9%. The activities of child health cadres can be applied on an ongoing basis with the school health program activities that have been established in schools

    Effectiveness of the Red Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus Polyrhizus) Peel Extract as the Colorant, Antioxidant, and Antimicrobial on Beef Sausage

    This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) peel extracts addition on beef sausages. Red dragon fruit peel extracts were obtained by maceration using solvent at pH 5. Phytochemical characteristics, total phenols, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activity of the peel extracts were observed. Antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the extracts were associated with high phytochemical compounds and total phenols contained in the extracts. Red dragon fruit peel extracts with various percentages (0%, 20%, 30%, and 40%) were added on beef sausages, and their physicochemical characteristics, nutrients, antioxidant activity, and microbiological profile were analyzed. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and Duncan\u27s multiple range test. Results showed that the addition of red dragon fruit peel extracts significantly reduced texture values, but increased intensity of luminosity, intensity of red color, and intensity of yellow color (P<0.05) beef sausages. It could be concluded that red dragon fruit peel extract containing phytochemical compounds was effective as an antibacterial agent and natural antioxidant. The addition of red dragon fruit peel extracts was effective in increasing the antioxidant activity and decreasing TBARS values. The addition of red dragon fruit peel extract did not affect the reddish colorization of beef sausages, but it was capable of increasing the yellowish colorization on beef sausage

    The Optimization of Eluent Chromatography Thin Layer 2-D for The Purification of Isolat Alkaloid of Pulai Having Potention as Anti-Toxoplasma

    There was a research having purpose to get pure alkaloid from pulai leaf in a way of chromatography thin layer two dimensions using 2 variants of eluent KLT 2-D. the result of this research is the best profile of chromatography thin layer obtained from eluent chloroform: methanol: ammonia (85: 15: 1) and also from KLT. There was 13 stains where the orange colored alkaloid is on the 8th and 9th stain/ spot. The profile of chromatography thin layer 2-D variant eluent 1 is from phase 1 (stain 1) and phase 2 (stain 2) whereas variant eluent 2 is from phase 1 (3 stains) and phase 2 (1 stain). According to the profile, the best eluent that will be used is variant eluent 2, that is eluent phase 1: chloroform: etil asetat (60:40) and eluent phase 2: chloroform: methanol: ammonia (85: 15:1)

    Abstrak: Banjir yang terjadi akibat meluapnya Sungai Cisangkuy Hilir mengakibatkan kerugian yang besar mencakup kerugian fisik maupun non fisik. Meluapnya Sungai Cisangkuy Hilir tersebut disebabkan karena sungai tidak  mampu  lagi menampung  debit  banjir  yang terjadi.  Makalah ini membahas mengenai analisis kondisi penampang eksisting Sungai Cisangkuy Hilir terhadap debit banjir rencana (periode ulang 20 tahun) menggunakan software HEC-RAS. Penelitian kali ini menggunakan HEC-RAS dari mulai pembuatan model tiruan Sungai Cisangkuy Hilir sampai simulasi aliran model tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi, ( steady flow analysis) menggunakan debit banjir rencana periode ulang 20 tahun (229, 27 m3/s) bahwa semua penampang mengalami banjir dan tidak memenuhi persyaratan tinggi jagaan (0.75 meter). Tinggi banjir tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun 17,4 yaitu mencapai 3,06 meter sedangkan tinggi banjir terendah terdapat pada stasiun 0 yaitu sebesar 0,03 meter. Banjir tersebut disebabkan karena tinggi sedimen yang mencapai tiga meter di sepanjang sungai yang membuat kapasitas penampang menjadi kecil. Sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa Sungai Cisangkuy Hilir memerlukan upaya penanganan banjir khususnya dengan normalisasi penampang sungai.Kata kunci: penampang, model, sedimen, simulasi, steadyAbstract: Floods caused by overflowing of the river downstream Cisangkuy cause large losses include loss of physical and non-physical. Cisangkuy River Downstream overflowing caused by the river no longer able to accommodate the flood discharge. This paper discusses the analysis of the existing conditions section Cisangkuy river downstream with discharge plan (20 year return period) using HEC-RAS software. This research using HEC-RAS ranging from artificial modeling Cisangkuy River downstream until flow simulation model. Based on simulation results, (steady flow analysis) using the flood discharge plan period of 20 years (229, 27 m3/s) that all the section was flooded and did not comply the freeboard (0.75 meters). The highest floods are on station 17.4, reaching 3.06 meters while the lowest was at station flood 0 is equal to 0.03 meters. The flood was caused by high sediment that reaches three meters along the river which makes a small cross-section capacity. So it can be concluded that the river downstream Cisangkuy require flood mitigation efforts in particular by normalizing the river section. Keywords: cross section, models, sediment, simulation, stead

    Selection of the appropriate grinding parameters are needed and grinding parameters that affect the quality of surface roughness such as rotation speed grinding machines, the speed of rotation of the workpiece using the coolant medium is coolant mixture is in the form of palm oil additives RBDO with calcium hypochlorite. Coolant mixture is obtained based on the results of research that has been done by Buma in 2014. This study used three variations of round rotation workpieces are low speed (83 rpm), medium speed (194 rpm) and high speed (304 rpm). Likewise with varying depth of cut is 0.005 mm, 0.010 mm, 0.015 mm. This test is a variation on the round grinding machine and workpiece feeds depth very big influence on the surface roughness. In this case can be concluded that the greater the level of rotational speed of the workpiece and the depth of feeds, then the smaller the surface roughness value is in the variation of the rotational speed of the workpiece at a speed of 304 rpm with a depth of 0.015 mm Ingestion is worth 0.84 μm. The lower level of the rotational speed of the workpiece and the depth of feeds, the greater the surface roughness value is in the variation of the rotational speed of the workpiece at a speed of 83 rpm with a depth of 0,005 mm Ingestion is worth 2.43 μm
