Effect of carica papaya leaf extract toward hatching and survival rate of nilem fish (Osteochilus hasselti) larvae
One of the problems in nilem fish (Osteochilus hasselti) harvesting is the unfulfilled availability of seed that is caused by low hatchability of eggs and larvae survival as well as high larvae abnormalities due to attacks by microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria. Papaya leaf was known as one alternative to increase the egg’s hatching rate because it has antifungal and antibacterial bioactive compounds. This study aimed to determine the effect of papaya leaf extract on egg hatchability, larvae abnormalities, and larvae survival. This study used an experimental method using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 repetitions. The treatment doses of the papaya leaf extract that were tested were control (A), 0.75 mg/L (B), 1 mg/L (C), and 1.25 mg/L (D). The results showed that the addition of papaya leaf extract had a significant effect (P<0.05) on egg hatchability, larvae abnormalities, and survival rate of Osteochilus hasselti larvae. The hatching rate results for each treatment were 76.50% (A), 79.50% (B), 83.50% (C), and 87.25% (D). The results of larvae abnormalities showed 9.16% (A), 7.24% (B), 5.09% (C), and 4.30% (D). Meanwhile, the results of larvae survival showed 73.87% (A), 76.13% (B), 77.25% (C), and 80.55% (D). Treatment D (1.25 mg/L) was the best treatment in this study, resulting in egg hatchability of 87.25%, larvae abnormality of 4.30%, and larvae survival of 80.55%
Additional of crocot flour (Portulaca oleracea l.) and Mannanoligosaccharides (MOS) in feed for improving growth performance windu shrimp (Penaeus monodon)
This study aims to determine the effect of giving purslane flour and MOS to feed on increasing growth performance in Windu shrimp (Paneus monodon). The research was carried out at the Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau Ujung Batee (BPBAP) in Ujung Batee. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments used, namely A (control), B (30 g/kg purslane flour and 10 g/kg MOS), C (40 g/kg purslane flour and 10 g/kg MOS), and D (50 g/kg purslane flour and 10 g/kg MOS). The results showed that the addition of 40 g/kg purslane flour and 10 g/kg MOS resulted in an absolute weight growth of 0.60±0.05 grams, a specific growth rate 16.00±0.24% per day, an absolute length growth of 4.33±0.06 cm, a feed conversion ratio of 0.52±0.03, feed efficiency of 192.08±12.21%, moulting frequency of 1.50 times per head, and a survival rate of 93.20±9.33%
Pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus) pada konsentrasi tepung daun jaloh (Salix tetrasperma Roxb) yang berbeda dalam pakan
Abstract. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the possibility of jaloh leaf powders as alternative raw material for the formulated diet ofAfrican catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Four concentrations of jaloh leaf powders (0%, 5%, 10% and 15%) were examined in this study. The experimental fish were fed three times a day (on 08.00 am, 12.00 am and 17.00 pm) with feeding ration of 5% of body weight and the fish was reared for 35 days. The ANOVA test showed that the different concentration of jaloh leaf powders gave a significantly effect on growth performance of African catfish larvae (P0,05) but did not give significantly effect on the survival rate (P0,05). The Duncans test showed that the higher survival rate and growth performance were found in the control (without jaloh leaf powders). Therefore it is concluded that the jaloh leaf powders is not suitable as alternativerows material for African catfish diet.Key words: Protein; Carbohydrate; Catfish; Alternative feed Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemungkinan pemanfaatan  tepung daun jaloh (S. tetrasperma) sebagai bahan baku alternatif untuk pakan ikan lele(C. gariepinus). Dalam penelitian ini telah diuji beberapa tingkat proporsi tepung daun jaloh yaitu (0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15%) .Pemberian pakan dilakukan tiga kali sehari, yaitu pada pukul 08.00, 12.00 dan 17.00 WIB,sebanyak5%dari berat bobot tubuhnyaselama 35 hari. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun jaloh memberikan pengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan mutlak dan pertumbuhan harian benih ikan lele dumbo (P0,05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup (P0,05). Uji lanjut Duncan’s menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kontrol (tanpa daun jaloh) dalam pakan memberikan hasil terbaik dari segi pertumbuhan mutlak, pertumbuhan harian dan kelangsungan hidup. Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan tepung daun jaloh kurang sesuai sebagai bahan baku alternatif dalam pakan ikan lele dumbo.Kata kunci: Protein; Karbohidrat; Ikan lele; Pakan alternati
HILIRASIS PRODUK AGRO NILAM UNTUK INDUSTRI KREATIF PARIWISATA DESA GEUNTEUT, ACEH BESAR
Desa Geunteut di Kabupaten Aceh Besar merupakan salah satu wilayah penghasil minyak nilam Aceh. Aktivitas budidaya nilam di desa ini telah mendatangkan kunjungan dari kalangan pemerintah dan pendidikan. Sehingga, muncul inisiasi untuk pengembangan Desa Geunteut menjadi Desa Wisata dan Inovasi dengan nama GEUNARA. Artikel ini akan membahas pengembangan produk industri kreatif dari minyak nilam yang dihasilkan oleh kelompok tani nilam Desa Geunteut sehingga dapat menjadi produk pariwisata desa. Tahapan pelaksanaan terdiri dari identifikasi potensi pengembangan produk dan kompetensi sumber daya manusia Desa Geunteut, penyusunan rencana aksi, dan pelatihan pembuatan produk. Dari kegiatan ini, SDM Desa Geunteut mampu membuat parfum, balsem cair, sabun cuci piring, dan potpourri dari bahan-bahan alam yang ada di desa. Produk-produk kreatif yang dihasilkan akan menjadi souvenir bagi pengunjung yang datang ke Desa Geunteut. Aktivitas ini diharapkan akan mendorong pengembangan desa wisata dan inovasi GEUNARA, membuka lapangan kerja baru dan menumbuhkan UMKM di desa sehingga meningkatkan perekonomian desa
PENGGUNAAN LIMBAH KULIT MANIHOT ESCULENTA POHL SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU SUBSTITUSI TEPUNG TAPIOKA DALAM PAKAN BENIH Colossoma macropomum TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN KELANGSUNGAN HIDUP
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan limbah kulit singkong sebagai bahan baku substitusi tepung tapioka dalam pakan benih ikan bawal (Colossoma macropomum) yang berperan sebagai binder. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Laboratorium Kesehatan dan Bioteknologi Akuakultur, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (A: pakan komersial, B: penambahan 15% tepung tapioka dalam pakan, C: penambahan 10% tepung tapioka, 5% tepung limbah kulit singkong, D: penambahan 5% tepung tapioka, 10% tepung limbah kulit singkong, E: penambahan 0% tepung tapioka, 15% tepung limbah kulit singkong). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung tapioka 10% dan tepung limbah kulit singkong 5 % menghasilkan pertumbuhan berat mutlak (1,86±0,17 g), pertumbuhan Panjang mutlak (1,21±0,10 cm), kelangsungan hidup ikan 100%, dan FCR (1,89±0,10). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu tepung tapioka dapat disubstitusi dengan tepung limbah kulit singkong sebagai bahan baku pakan yang berfungsi sebagai binder.Kata Kunci : Pakan, Tepung tapioka; Binder; Limbah kulit singkon
The Role of Turmeric Powder Supplementation in Improving Liver Performances to Support Production of Siam Catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus)
In oviparous animals, the qualities of offspring are determined by the materials deposited in the developing oocytes that are synthesized and produced by the hepatocytes under the control of estrogen. This study was designed to evaluate the effect of turmeric powder supplementation on liver performance to support the reproduction performances of catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). The study used 60 catfish with average body weight of ± 2 kg. The experimental catfish were assigned into a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and each treatment consisted of 15 replications. The treatment was the dose of turmeric powder supplementation in the commercial feed i.e., 0, 240, 480, and 960 mg/100 g feed. The experimental catfish were fed two times a day in the morning and in the evening as much as 3% of body weight. The results showed that turmeric powder supplementation at a dose of 240 mg/100 g feed could inhibit liver cell destruction in the catfish as was indicated by the increase in body weight, liver weight, and DNA concentrations of liver, as well as the decrease in the liver malondialdehyde, and serum glutamic piruvic transaminase, serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase concentrations. Turmeric powder supplementation can be used in oviparous animals and fish to increase liver function and capacity to synthesize vitellogenin to be deposited in the developing follicles during reproduction phase
Implementasi SAK EMKM di UMKM Kab. Aceh Barat: Pengaruh Pendidikan, Business Size, dan Sosialisasi
MSMEs play a crucial role in Indonesia’s economy and have demonstrated resilience during the pandemic. However, despite the issuance of SAK EMKM to facilitate financial reporting for MSMEs, many MSMEs in Kabupaten Aceh Barat still lack a proper understanding of these standards. This research aims to analyze the influence of educational background, business size, and the provision of information and socialization on MSME actors’ understanding of SAK EMKM implementation. Using survey methods and multiple linear regression analysis, the results reveal that educational background and the provision of the information and socialization have significant impacts on MSME actors’ understanding. However, business size does not have a significant effect. These findings highlight the importance of more effective education and socialization for MSME actors to enhance their ability to prepare financial statements in accordance with the applicable standards
Additional of EM4 and molasses in feeds on the growth and survival rate of snakehead (Channa striata)
This study aims to determine the effect of giving EM4 probiotics on the growth and survival rate of snakehead (Channa striata). This research was carried out at the Fish Hatchery Laboratory, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Universitas Syiah Kuala. This study was conducted using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments used, namely A (control), B (EM4 6 ml/kg of feed), C (EM4 8 ml/kg of feed), and D (EM4 10 ml/kg of feed). The results showed that the addition of 10 ml/kg of feed of EM4 probiotic resulted in an absolute length growth of 1.60±0.17 cm, an absolute weight growth of 1.85±0.18 gram, a specific growth rate of 1.97±0.10 % per day, a feed conversion ratio of 1.56±0.03, feed efficiency 64.19±1.41 % and survival rate 97.78±3.85 %. The results of this study can be concluded that the addition of probiotic EM4 10 ml/kg of feed can increase the growth and survival rate of snakehead (Channa striata).
