On Measures and Measurements: a Fibre Bundle approach to Contextuality
Contextuality is the failure of "local" probabilistic models to become global
ones. In this paper we introduce the notions of \emph{measurable fibre
bundles}, \emph{probability fibre bundles}, and \emph{sample fibre bundle}
which capture and make precise the former statement. The central notions of
contextuality are discussed under this formalism, examples worked out, and some
new aspects pointed out.Comment: 14 pages; no figures; Purdue-Winer Memorial Lectures 2018; submitted

Possible scenario for MaVaN's as the only neutrino flavor conversion mechanism in the Sun
Mass Varying neutrino mechanisms were proposed to link the neutrino mass
scale with dark energy, addressing the coincidence problem. In some scenarios
this mass can present a dependence on the baryonic density felt by neutrinos,
creating an effective neutrino mass that depends both on the neutrino and
baryonic densities. In this article we investigate the possibility that a
neutrino effective mass is the only flavour conversion mechanism acting in
neutrino oscillation experiments. We present a parameterization on the
environmental effects on neutrino mass that produces the right flavour
conversion probabilities for solar and terrestrial neutrinos experiments.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figure
The Foucaultian archaeological method in Giorgo Agamben
Agamben has claimed to work inside the tradition inaugurated by the archaeological method of Michel Foucault but not to fully coincide with it. “My method is archaeological and paradigmatic in a sense which is very close to that of Foucault, but not completely coincident with it. The question is, facing the dichotomies that structuralize our culture, to go beyond the exceptions that have been producing the former, however, not to find a chronologically originary state, but to be able to understand the situation in which we are. Archaeology is, in this sense, the only way to access present” (interview to Flavia Costa, trad. Susana Scramim, in Revista do Departamento de Psicologia – Universidade Federal Fluminense, Niterói, v. 18 - n. 1, 131-136, Jan./Jun. 2006, 132, translated by the author). However, the aspects in which Agamben follows Foucault's method and the ones he does not were never very clear. This situation seems to change with the edition of Agamben's most extensive and explicit texts on method, Signatura Rerum. Sul Metodo (2008, italian edition). The goal of this article is to identify the points of intersection between their methods and some points in which they differ
On the Six-dimensional Kerr Theorem and Twistor Equation
The Kerr theorem is revisited as part of the twistor program in six
dimensions. The relationship between pure spinors and integrable 3-planes is
investigated. The real condition for Lorentzian spacetimes is seen to induce a
projective property in the space of solutions, reminiscent of the quaternionic
structure of the 6-dimensional Lorentz group. The twistor equation (or Killing
spinor equations generically) also has an interpretation as integrable null
planes and a family of Einstein spacetimes with this property are presented in
the Kerr-Schild fashion.Comment: JHEP style, 19 pages, minor corrections. Matches printed versio
