Fock-state view of weak-value measurements and implementation with photons and atomic ensembles
Weak measurements in combination with post-selection can give rise to a
striking amplification effect (related to a large "weak value"). We show that
this effect can be understood by viewing the initial state of the pointer as
the ground state of a fictional harmonic oscillator, helping us to clarify the
transition from the weak-value regime to conventional dark-port interferometry.
We then describe how to implement fully quantum weak-value measurements
combining photons and atomic ensembles.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
Polarization Entanglement Purification using Spatial Entanglement
Parametric down-conversion can produce photons that are entangled both in
polarization and in space. Here we show how the spatial entanglement can be
used to purify the polarization entanglement using only linear optical
elements. Spatial entanglement as an additional resource leads to a substantial
improvement in entanglement output compared to a previous scheme.
Interestingly, in the present context the thermal character of down-conversion
sources can be turned into an advantage. Our scheme is realizable with current
technology.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure
Purchasing Organization and Design: A Literature Review
This paper presents the results of a comprehensive literature review of the organization of purchasing covering the period from 1967 to 2009. The review provides a structured overview of prior research topics and findings and identifies gaps in the existing literature that may be addressed in future research. The intention of the review is to a) synthesize prior research, b) provide researchers with a structural framework on which future research on the organization of purchasing may be oriented, and c) suggest promising areas for future research.purchasing, supply, procurement, organization, institutional structure, structure, institution, design, performance, literature review
