Esta realidade √© um desafio social, pol√≠tico e das redes de cuidados formais, como estrategas na forma√ß√£o do cuidador informal e coordena√ß√£o no processo de adapta√ß√£o √† pessoa dependente, com vista √† melhoria da sua qualidade de vida. A presta√ß√£o informal dos cuidados tem, como consequ√™ncia, um crescente reconhecimento relativamente √† import√Ęncia da rede social e respectivo sistema de apoio ao cuidador. Este reconhecimento leva a crer que a rela√ß√£o entre o cuidador e a pessoa dependente n√£o √© explicada apenas pela motiva√ß√£o e determina√ß√£o do primeiro, nem pela reciprocidade do apoio, sendo que este suporte tamb√©m se torna poss√≠vel pela assist√™ncia que o cuidador recebe da sua rede social, protegendo o mesmo de algumas fontes de stress ou distress (Figueiredo, 2007).     Introduction: Cerebrovascular accident [CVA] is considered a chronic disease with implications for health, functionality and quality of life. Thus, after returning home, rehabilitation nursing assumes great importance in helping the user to regain lost skills and become independent again, with non-professional caregivers being particularly important in this process. Methodology: Case study conducted according to the Case Report Guidelines [CARE] method with the stages of diagnostic assessment, therapeutic intervention and results. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation nursing care in a patient with post-Covid stroke, at home. Data collection for diagnostic and efficacy assessment was performed using instruments validated for the Portuguese population and included observation and assessment techniques within the scope of the specialty area. Results: There was a gain of 84 points in the Functional Independence Measure. Personal hygiene, dressing and undressing self-care evolved from full help to supervision and modified independence, respectively. In the use of the toilet and control of the vesical sphincter, complete independence was obtained with a starting point of total help. There was a recovery of balance (45 points on the Berg scale), strength and evolution of muscle tone. Conclusion: The rehabilitation nursing intervention plan adjusted to the real needs of the user, made it possible to observe the evolution of the user under study, revealing itself as an evident indicator of the effectiveness in the recovery of functionality, independence in self-care and social reintegration as a citizen, producing gains in health

    The impact of positive psychological capital on psychological distress of primary and secondary education teachers

    Teaching is one of the professions in which individuals are more likely to develop high levels of anxiety and stress. The persistence of these symptoms can lead to severe depressive cases. Nevertheless, numerous teachers are able to react functionally while facing these profissional difficulties by developing positive psychological capacities that opposethe negative symptomatology. This study examines the impact of positive psychological capital (PsyCap) on psychological distress of primary and secondary education teachers. The sample consists of 425 teachers in public and private schools aged between 26 and 62 years. For this purpose, we used the Psychological Capital Questionnaire and the scales of Depression, Anxiety and Stress. Findings show that optimism is the variable with the highest positive impact on psychological distress, because the most optimistic teachers showed lower ratings of anxiety, depression and stress. The negative correlations between all the variables in the study suggest that the higher the PsyCap values are, the lower the psychological anguish of the teachers. In this study, it was also to confirm that teachers with ages between 45-62 and academic qualification higher than degree level reveal greater medium values of psychological distress
