Pendapatan USAhatani Pembenihan Lele Dumbo dan Lele Sangkuriang di Desa Babakan, Kecamatan Ciseeng, Bogor
Catfish is one of the nine potential leading commodities in Indonesia. The biggest demand of the fish reaches 250 tons a day in Java and this makes the fish breeding business very important. One of the catfish breeding areas is Babakan Seeng, Bogor District. There are two catfish verieties, i.e Dumbo, which is cultivated in Pokdakan Jumbo Lestari and Sangkuriang in Pokdakan Kubang sejahtera. The breeding system of those varieties is different: stocking density of 10 000 juveniles per 300 m2 for Dumbo and 20 000 juveniles per 300 m2 for Sangkuriang, due to the bigger egg hatching expectation; i.e 90%. The research showed that the income of Dumbo catfish farm was Rp 7 544 531, while that of the sangkuriang catfish farm was only Rp 3 857 981. R/C ratio of Dumbo catfish farm was 1.49 and R/C ratio of Sangkuriang catfish farm was 1.16. Chi-squares analysis also proves that the difference the way aquaculture can effect farm income. This proves that Dumbo catfish farm is more profitable compared to Sangkuriang farm. Sangkuriang catfish hatchery can be more profitable when the stocking density is lessened
The Effects of Partnerships on the Efficiency of Mustard Farming at Megamendung District
Partnership arrangement leads to differences in the production and management of mustard farming between partner farmers and non-partner farmers. Partnership can affect input and output prices, cultivation techniques, and productivity of mustard. The objectives of this study were to identify factors that affect farmer participation in partnerships, effects of partnership on efficiency, and factors affecting inefficiency in mustard farming. The research used cross-sectional data from a sample of 70 mustard farmers, consisting of 35 farmers with partnership arrangement and 35 farmers with no partnership. The methods used were logistic regression analysis, stochastic frontier production function, and dual cost function. The research results show that factors affecting farmers to get involved in partnership are productivity and income. By participating in partnerships, farmers' farming will be more technically efficient but allocatively and economically inefficient. Factors affecting technical inefficiency include education, number of family members and participation in partnerships. The results of the research also show that partnerships may create opportunities to the farmers to increase their farming productivity. However, they still need facilitation or assistance from the government or local institutions especially in formulating the contract agreement
Model Dinamis Sistem Ketersediaan Daging Sapi Nasional
The purpose of this paper is to assess whether the national program on beef self sufficiency could be achieved at 2014. A dynamic system model with Vensim computer program is applied. The model validated by Mean Absolute Percentage Error. The results shows high accuracies of the model. The assessment show that, first, the beef self sufficiency would not be achieved at 2014 if the program are treated and running as usual (Scenario I). Second, the beef self sufficiency would be achieved at 2015 if government increase the cow population by reducing the slaughter of local cows and expanding the cross breeding program through artificial insemination (Scenario II). Third, the beef self sufficiency would not be achieved at 2014 if the actual beef consumption are higher than the supply that produce through Scenario II (Scenario III). Another innovative solution for increasing local cow population is needed
Perilaku Penawaran Peternak Sapi di Indonesia dalam Merespon Perubahan Harga (Supply Behaviour Of Cattle Farmers In Indonesia To Respond The Price Changes)
Demand for beef in Indonesia keeps growing and it leads to increased gap between its low production and high consumption (excess demand). The impact is an increasing trend of domestic beef price. Eventhough, the beef farmers in Indonesia don't respond to the price changes. In this study, an attempt has been made to examine the supply response of beef farmers in Indonesia by using Error Correction Model (ECM). The result showed that (1) the beef supply influenced by the number of cattle cut which is variable availability; (2) the price of dairy milk, the price of feed, and the price of beef the world have negative influence; (3) cattle farmers not responsive to the price change as spatially subsistence
Analisis Pendapatan dan Efisiensi Teknis Usahatani Ubi Jalar di Kecamatan Ampek Angkek, Kabupaten Agam Provinsi Sumatera Barat
Production of commodity determined by effectiveness allocation of input. The level of input allocation will give impact to production and then farm income. This study was aimed to analyze the income of sweet potato farm, to identify factors those are effect the production of sweet potato, to analyze technical efficiency and factors of technical inefficiency of sweet potato's farm. The data was gather from 40 sweet potato farmers in Ampek Angkek district regency of Agam West Sumatra. The result showed that the income of sweet potato farmers were IDR 24,659,314.18 with R/C ratio 1.8. The R/C ratio indicated that sweet potato farm was still feasible and profitable to be cultivate. Factors that effect the production of sweet potato were seeds, organic fertilizer, labor in the family, and labor outside the family. The average of technical efficiency rate was 0.85, which means that productivity of sweet potato farm achieved 85 percent from the maximum level. Meanwhile, the inefficiency can be reduce by membership of farm group, age, and land tenure
Struktur, Perilaku dan Kinerja Pemasaran Biji Kakao di Kabupaten Parigi Moutong Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah
Parigi Moutong is one of cocoa production center in the Central Sulawesi province. The problem faced by cocoa farmers in Parigi Moutong is the weak bargaining position of farmers in the price determination. The purpose of this study is to analyze cocoa beans market structure, conduct and performance at Parigi Moutong district. The methods used are market concentration and exit barriers to analyze market structure; market conductand farmer share and marketing margin to analyze market performance. The results show that the market of cocoa beans has four marketing channels which the highest total margin is on 2nd channel (Rp 25 465 and oligopsony structure. The most efficient marketing channel is channel 3 with 58.01 percent of farmer share. One of alternatives to increase farmer's bargaining position in determining the cocoa price is by improving the cocoa quality through fermentation. This can be conducted by the farmer empowerment systematically and sustainably
