    Business Process Reengineering of Funding on Indonesia's Islamic Banks

    This research attempts to analyze the value chain of Islamic banking business processes and to develop a business processes model on depositors' funds in order to improve the performance of Islamic banks. Four models of Islamic banking operating in Indonesia are used as the objects of the study. This research applies qualitative study (exploratory) approach and utilizes primary data obtained from questionnaire and interviews. This data are then processed by value stream mapping and process activity mapping. This study shows that the waiting time for services is the sub-stage of business process that does not have value added and categorized as pure waste based on VSM criteria.The reengineering of business process of the third party fundraising may reduce collection time up to 1490 minutes for corporate customer and 22 minutes for individual customer.DOI: 10.15408/aiq.v8i1.250

    Bank Sampah Berdikari adalah salah satu bank sampah yang berlokasi di kelurahan Joglo, Kecamatan Kembangan, Jakarta Barat. Bank Sampah ini memiliki potensi untuk berkembang dalam menangani permasalahan lingkungan terkait penanganan sampah di satu sisi, dan sebagai kegiatan yang memberikan nilai tambah secara ekonomis bagi masyarakat di sisi lain. Namun, Bank Sampah Berdikari memiliki permasalahan pengelolaan SDM yang bisa menjadi kendala pertumbuhan. Karena itu, maka  tim Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta mengadakan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat  berjudul ”Literasi Manajemen SDM untuk  Keberlangsungan Bank Sampah”.  Kegiatan dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu pra-survey, pelatihan dan mentoring/pendampingan. Tujuan kegiatan adalah memberikan pelatihan, konsultasi, dan pendampingan dalam rangka peningkatan pengetahuan manajemen SDM terkait pengelolaan Bank Sampah.  Pelatihan diikuti 20 orang yang mewakili pengurus dan anggota Bank Sampah Berdikari serta masyarakat terkait. Pelatihan dilakukan secara tatap fisik di Kelurahan Joglo, Kembangan, Jakarta Barat. Hasil pelatihan dan pendampingan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan literasi peserta terkait dengan manajemen sumber daya manusia dan manajemen risiko  dalam pengelolaan bank sampah

    KNOWLEDGE AND COMPLIANCE: THE INCREASING INTENTION OF MSME’s HALAL CERTIFICATION IN INDONESIA

    The obligation of halal certification has been promulgated since 2014. However, MSMEs that apply for halal certification are only 1%.  This study aims to analyze the effects of knowledge and compliance on the intention of MSME’s halal certification in Indonesia.  The study used a quantitative approach. The sample size was 100 respondents representing owners, managers, or leaders of MSMEs in several cities in Indonesia. Samples were taken by convenience sampling technique. Data processing using Smart-PLS.   The results showed that knowledge had an insignificant positive effect on the intention to implement halal certification directly. However, mediated by compliance, knowledge significantly affects the intention to implement halal certification. Compliance increases the intention of MSMEs to implement halal certification in Indonesia.   Compliance is a crucial factor in increasing the intention of MSMEs to implement halal certification both directly and in the role of mediators

    THAIPUSAM RITUALS IN BANDA ACEH AS TAMIL HINDU ETHNIC IDENTITY

    The purpose of this study is to learn more about how the Thaipusam Tamil Hindu festival is celebrated in Banda Aceh, as well as how the people of Banda Aceh feel about it. The Thaipussam ritual is a Hindu religious ceremony that the Tamil ethnic minority follows. This ceremony is performed as a thank you to Lord Murugan or Lord Subramanyam, who gives life with safety, tranquility, and prosperity. This rite is also performed as a penance and on the day when vows are paid. This study employed a qualitative approach, including observation, interviews, and documentation as tools. The acquired data was analyzed using techniques such as data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings of this study show that the Thaipusam ritual is not just a religious activity for the Tamil people of Banda Aceh, but also an ethnic identity. Despite being a minority, this tradition makes the Tamil ethnic group's existence in Banda Aceh known, ensuring that ordinary people are not disturbed by the celebration. The contact between Tamil Hindus and other religious communities has never been tense or contentious. They all live in peace and love, never interfering with or mocking one another's religious beliefs

    This article is entitled "The Papar Tradition in the Custom on Death in Teupah Tengah Subdistrict, Simeulue Regency". The purpose of this research is to examine the history of papar tradition in Simeulue, reasons among the people who perform or not perform the tradition, to find out meanings and symbols contained in the papar tradition, and to understand the perception of the community and scholars to the papar tradition. This study applies a qualitative method. This method is used to explore sources of information and data in the form of interviews and documentation. The research results show that the Papar Tradition has existed from the time of ancestors to the present. In the Papar tradition, there are several processes carried out, namely, the Sarak Papar process: Sarak is the delivery, while the Papar is the details; the Manjalang Tuaik Faten process means inviting relatives, the Mangatuk Lulumang process means informing all invitees that the family no longer have a father.
