Self-identity of Adolescents at the Lasiana Orphanage
. In the process of forming self-identity, there are several factors that influence the process of forming self-identity, namely the influence of family on adolescent identity, the influence of cultural and ethnic identity and gender. The influence of family on the formation of adolescent self-identity is very important in the developmental period of adolescents who experience many changes in self-identity. This study aims to determine the effect of self-identity on adolescents at the Lasiana Orphanage, Kupang City in terms of gender. This type of research is a quantitative study. The sample size is 117 orphanage children who are willing to fill out the Coisoner scale. The type of research used is the comparative method, namely to determine the differences in identity among adolescents at the Lasiana Orphanage in terms of gender. The results of the Independent sample T-test stated that the self-identity of adolescents in the Lasiana orphanage in Kupang City, namely there was no significant difference. This is obtained from the sig (1-tailed) result of (0.086) (p> 0.05) so that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is no significant difference
Adolescent Premarital Sexual Behavior
Abstract. Premarital sexual behavior is the behavior that is driven by sexual desire, both with the opposite sex or same sex without going through a legal marriage process according to law and religion. This study aims to describe premarital adolescent sexual behavior based on sex, age and education level. The design in this study is descriptive quantitative by collecting data from premarital sexual behavior scale (consisted of 11 items) compiled by Widowati (2009). The participants were 400 teenagers aged 17-24 years, currently or have been dating, unmarried, and domiciled at Kelapa Lima Sub District. Data analysis by kruskall-wallis test. The result showed that there are significant differences in premarital adolescent sexual behavior based on sex and age, but there is no significant difference in adolescent sexual behavior based on education level. The teenagers are expected to be able to maintain their behavior and filter information received from peers or the mass media
The Description of Stress Levels among Medical Students
Abstract. Stress is the body’s reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response. The body reacts to these changes with physical, mental, and emotional responses. This research aims to comprehend the stress levels of students in the medical faculty of Nusa Cendana University, Kupang based on sex and years. The design in this research is descriptive quantitative by collecting data used stress scale (consisted of 40 items) compiled by the researcher. The trial results of the measuring instruments shows that the value of Cronbach’s Alpha is 0.936. The participants are 173 students. The result shows that medical students have a moderate stress level that seen from the percentage is 85.5%, and female students have a higher stress level than male based on sex, then last year students have a higher stress level than the other students based on year.
Abstrak. Stres adalah reaksi tubuh terhadap setiap perubahan yang membutuhkan penyesuaian atau respons. Tubuh bereaksi terhadap perubahan ini dengan tanggapan fisik, mental, dan emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat stres mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Nusa Cendana Kupang berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan umur. Desain dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan skala stres (terdiri dari 40 item) yang disusun oleh peneliti. Hasil uji coba alat ukur menunjukkan bahwa nilai Cronbach's Alpha adalah 0,936. Pesertanya 173 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa kedokteran memiliki tingkat stres yang sedang dilihat dari persentase 85,5%, dan mahasiswa perempuan memiliki tingkat stres yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki berdasarkan jenis kelamin, maka tahun lalu mahasiswa memiliki tingkat stres yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa lain berdasarkan tahun
The Relationship between Religiosity and Subjective Well-Being in Takmir Who Works as a Fisherman
This study aims to determine the relationship between religiosity and subjective well-being in Takmir mosque who works as a fisherman. The number of samples in this study was 40 fishermen in Kupang City who were Muslim. The data collection method was carried out using a questionnaire divided into three scales, namely the religiosity scale adapted from Satriani, (2011), and the two subjective well-being scales of the PANAS (Positive Affect and Negative Affect Scale) expressed by Watson, Clark, and Tellegen (1988) and SWLS (Satisfaction with Life Scale) based on the theory stated by Diener (1999). The results showed a significant relationship between religiosity and subjective well-being at the mosque takmir who works as fishermen where the Pearson Correlation value = 0.610 with a significance value of 0,000 (ƿ<0.05). This study aims to provide a new understanding of increasing welfare by increasing the religiosity value of the individual
Comparison of New Students Self-Confidence in Terms of Overseas Students and Non-migrants
Self-confidence is a feeling of confidence and a positive attitude for an individual that enables him/her to develop positive assessments, both for himself/herself and the environment or situation he/she is in. Overseas students need adjustments to provide an idea that they can be accepted well by the surrounding environment, whether they are newcomers to overseas students and non-migrants. This study aims to determine the differences in self-confidence of new students of the Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Public Health, Nusa Cendana University in terms of migrating and not migrating. This type of research is quantitative research. 73 new students who had migrated and did not migrate were randomly selected from four classes. The variables studied were tested using the independent sample t-test to determine differences in the confidence of new students in terms of migrating and not migrating. The results of the independent sample t-test stated that the confidence between new students in terms of migrating and not migrating the Psychology Study Program was not different, it was obtained from the significance results (2-tailed) of (0.478) (p> 0.05)
Differences in the Subjective Well-Being of Undergraduate Students Based on Birth Order
Abstract: Subjective well-being is an important thing in one's life. Various ways are done by someone to feel welfare in his life. The position of the child in the order of birth is a condition that is determined at the time of conception, has a fundamental influence on its subsequent development. This is because parents generally have specific attitudes, treatments, and roles for their oldest child, middle child, and youngest child. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there are differences in the subjective welfare of Undana students based on birth order. The sampling technique used the Cochran formula with a standard error of 5%. So that the researchers managed to collect data as many as 433 students aged 18-24 years and have two or more siblings. The analysis in this study used an ANOVA significance value of 0.048 <0.05, so that H0 was rejected. If H0 is rejected, there is a significant difference in subjective welfare based on the birth order of students at the University of Nusa CendanaKupang
KEPATUHAN PENERAPAN PROTOKOL KESEHATAN PASCA VAKSINASI COVID-19 PADA PELAJAR SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA DI SMP NEGERI 20 KUPANG
Pandemi Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) yang meresahkan masyarakat Indonesia telah terjadi selama tiga tahun terakhir (2019-2022). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP N 20 Kupang pada bulan Maret sampai April tahun 2023. Tujuan umum dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan kepatuhan penerapan protokol kesehatan pasca vaksinasi COVID-19 pada Pelajar Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di SMP N 20 Kupang, sedangkan tujuan khusus dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana faktor pendukung perilaku kepatuhan penerapan protokol kesehatan pasca vaksinasi pada pelajar SMP, dan untuk mengetahui faktor penghambat perilaku kepatuhan penerapan protokol kesehatan pasca vaksinasi pada pelajar SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomologi dengan jumlah informan dalam penelitian ini adalah 8 orang, yaitu 6 orang informan kunci dan 2 orang informan utama. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Maret-April 2023. Teknik pengambilan sampel atau informan dengan purposive sampling. Analisis data dengan menentukan Reduksi data, Display Data dan Kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan faktor pendukung kepatuhan penerapan protokol kesehatan pasca vaksinasi pada pelajar SMP adalah pengetahuan dan dukungan keluarga/orang tua sedangkan faktor penghambat kepatuhan penerapan protokol kesehatan pasca vaksinasi pada pelajar SMP adalah kurangnya sarana dan prasana di lingkungan sekolah, serta tidak adanya aturan sekolah yang mendukung dalam menerapkan protokol kesehatan karena beranggapan bahwa COVID-19 sudah tidak ada. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan protokolkesehatan setelah vaksinasi sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan seperti menggunakan masker saat keluar rumah, menjaga jarak fisik, dan sering mencuci tangan dengan sabun dan air atau menggunakan antiseptik
Dukungan Sosial Guru dan Self Regulated Learning Siswa
The purpose of this study was to find the level of relationship of teacher's social support with self regulated learning of SMP Abdi Kasih Bangsa Kupang students. 58 students of SMP Abdi Kasih Bangsa Kupang was participated. Self regulated learning scale and teacher social support scale was used to collect data. Pearson correlation product moment was used to see the correlation between the two variables. The results showed that the correlation coefficient (rxy) was 0.424 with a significance value (p) of 0.001 which means there is a relationship between teacher social support and self-regulated learning
Descriptive Study of Self-Disclosure through Facebook of Psychology Students, Public Health Faculty of Nusa Cendana University
Self-disclosure is very important in a relationship or communication. Communication can be done through various media, both print, and other media. Along with the development of times and technology, self-disclosure can also be done either directly or indirectly. Indirectly, it can be done in various social media such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, and one of the popular media, namely Facebook. This study aims to describe the level of self-disclosure of psychology students of the faculty of public health on Facebook based on the characteristics of gender, age, place of residence, semester. This type of research uses a quantitative descriptive study. The data collection technique uses a scale that is distributed online via a google form. The research participants were 222 psychology students. The results showed that students had a low level of self-disclosure in the form of a low quantity seen from the empirical mean that was smaller than the hypothetical mean (23.7 <24), and the empirical mean valence was smaller than the hypothetical mean (18.2 <21), the hypothetical mean of accuracy is greater (14.9 <15), then broadness has a smaller empirical mean (17.2 <18) as well as smaller empirical mean familiarity (18.3 <24). Both male and female participants have low levels of self-disclosure. Participants aged 18-20 years (early adolescents) had the highest level of self-disclosure compared to the 21-22 age group (middle adolescents) and 23-24 years old (late adolescents). Participants who live at home and in boarding houses have low levels of self-disclosure. Participants who occupy semesters II, VI and VII have a lower level of self-disclosure compared to participants in semesters IV, X and XII
The Process of Finding Meaning of Life in Young Offender
Correctional Students can find meaning in life even though they have to be imprisoned. A person can change his life to be more meaningful through five stages, namely the stage of suffering, the stage of self-acceptance, the stage of finding the meaning of life, the stage of meaning realization, and the stage of a meaningful life. The purpose of this study was to describe the process of finding the meaning of adolescent life at Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Klas I Kupang. This research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Participants in this study were three people who were selected by purposive sampling method with the characteristics of having served a prison term of more than two years. The results showed that the three participants were at a meaningful life stage where Erman, Yoga, and Carlos interpreted their lives in prison with gratitude for their experiences while in detention
