The experiments was conducted to find proportion of primal cut on Brahman Cross Carcass. The experiment was conducted for 6 months in Slaughter house PT.SampiCo Adhi Abbatoir Cibitung Bekasi West Java. A hundred forty nine (imported from Australia) castrated Brahman Cross cattle (steer) were used with 1.5 up to more than 4 years of age and 379 – 622 kg of body weight. The design was randomized block completely design in 3 x 4 factorial design with 3 feedlots and 4 group of body weight and was analysed following GLM procedure with median of smallest quadrat (SAS, 1985 and Montgomery, 1991). The study showed that there was no significant on primal cut weight and its percentage among feedlot. Increase body weight significantly increased weight of primal cut but no proportion of primal cut

The student of pesantren (santri) should have integrated competencies, consist of Islamic knowledge, Islamic personalities, and entrepreneurship competencies. The Santri's characteristics are predicted to contribute to the santri's entrepreneurship competencies. For this assumption, the research objective is to know the contribution of santri's characteristics, Islamic knowledge and personalities to the santri's entrepreneurship competencies. Data collecting was held during December 2006-April 2007 from the 158 students in 13 pesantren in West Java and Banten. The santri's characteristics include age, level of formal education, experience of business training before entering to the pesantren, parent job, perception of talent and interest. The variables contribute to the entrepreneurship competencies are proved the Islamic personalities, perception of talent, Islamic knowledge abilities, and interest

The objective of this experiment was to reveal carcass and non-carcass percentage of male buffalo slaughtered at Slaughter House, Jambi. There were 60 male buffalo consist of 30 male buffalo with two pair of Incicifus (I2) and 30 male buffalo with four pair of pasang Incicifus (I4). Parameters measured were slaughter weight, carcass weight and non-carcass weight. Results of this experiment showed that the slaughter weight of buffalo at age I2 and I4 were 338. 56±18.5 kg and 387.48±45.5 kg respectively, the carcass weight at age I2 and I4 were 148.56 kg 169.36 kg respectively and the non-carcass weight at age I2 and I4 were 137.40 kg and 157.19 kg respectively. The carcass percentage for I2 and I4 were 43.89 and 43.72 % respectively and the non-carcass percentage for I2 and I4 were40.58 and 40.57 % respectively. It could be concluded that the age effect was not significantly different (P >0,05) on the carcass percentage carcass and non-carcass percentage on male buffalo

This experiment was aimed to investigate the effect of ration containing fish oil and its processed on in vitro rumen fermentation. The protected fatty acid's was in the form of dried carboxylate salt mixture (DCM). The data were analyzed using a completely randomized design with 2x2 factorial models; feeding trial (non CGKK, with CGKK and with fish oil) as the first factor and rumen liquor as second factor (the origin of buffaloes and cattle). The results showed that no interaction was found between the two factors on all parameters. The supplementation with DCM had significantly higher dry matter and organic matter digestibilities. Rumen NH3 of buffalo was lower compared to those of cattle. It is concluded that DCM supplementation does not disturb rumen fermentation

Characterizing Quantum Properties of a Measurement Apparatus: Insights from the Retrodictive Approach

Using the retrodictive approach of quantum physics, we show that the state retrodicted from the response of a measurement apparatus is a convenient tool to fully characterize its quantum properties. We translate in terms of this state some interesting aspects of the quantum behavior of a detector, such as the non-classicality or the non-gaussian character of its measurements. We also introduce estimators - the projectivity, the ideality, the fidelity or the detectivity of measurements perfomed by the apparatus - which directly follow from the retrodictive approach. Beyond their fundamental significance for describing general quantum measurements, these properties are crucial in several protocols, in particular in the conditional preparation of non-classical states of light or in measurement-driven quantum information processing

Degradability studies of PLA nanocomposites under controlled water sorption and soil burial conditions

    Get PDF
Polymer blended nanocomposites based on polylactic acid (PLA) were prepared via a simple melting process and investigated for its biodegradation behaviour. The treated CNTs were surface modified by using acid treatment and characterisations of composites were done by using Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) and UV-Vis. FTIR spectra and UV-Vis peak confirmed the surface modification of CNTs. The water uptake and weight loss behaviour based on CNTs and m-CNTs loading at different temperatures (25° and 45°C) were studied. It was found that the water absorption and weight loss of nanocomposites increased by the incorporation of CNTs and m-CNTs. Moisture induced degradation of composite samples was significant at elevated temperature. The addition of treated CNTs successfully reduced the water uptake and weight loss of nanocomposites due to less hydrolytic effect of water on nanocomposites. In soil burial test, the weight loss increases with addition of nanofiller. The loading of m-CNT reduced the ability of nanocomposites degradation

One of the main goals that WHO wants to reach in 2000 is Health for All Year 2000. Some of indicators have been using to measure the goals, such as infant mortality rate (IMR) and maternal mortality rate (MMR). West Sumatera Health Office had been successed reducing IMR and MMR for over 5 years, but the score was not mentioned the exact number becausethis measurement just using national statistic measurement. It also could not describe the disparity between the area and sosial group in West Sumatera. This research aim is to get the exact number of IMR and MMR, determinat factors and its problems in West Sumatera in 2007. The study desain was Direct Household Survey Method with prospective approach. The research was done in 19 different government district in West Sumatera from January 1st until December 31st 2007. Result of this research found IMR and MMR of West Sumatera in 2007 is 28,4 per 1.000 birth life and 211,9 per 100.000 birth life. Asphyxia and postpartum bleeding is the main cause of infant and maternal death. West Sumatera Health Office and its government should have a strong commitment to build effective networking to reduce IMR and MMR in West Sumatera
