Pengendalian Infestasi Ektoparasit Dactylogyrus SP. Pada Benih Ikan Patin (Pangasius SP.) Dengan Penambahan Garam Dapur
The objective of this study was to find out the optimum salinity of media to control Dactylogyrus sp. in catfish. This research was conducted at Marine Biology Laboratory, Marine and Fisheries Faculty on January 2016. This research used non factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications I.e (A) 0 ppt, (B) ppt, (C) 8 ppt, (D) 9 ppt and (E) 10 ppt. The observed parameters were the prevalence and intensity of Dactylogyrus sp. the survival rate of catfish and the water quality of media. The result of this study indicated that the salinity significantly affects the prevalence and intesity of Dactylogyrus, but did not affect the survival rate of catfish. The lower prevalence and intesity of Dactylogyrus sp. was obtained at the treatment of 10 ppt with value 37,50% and 1,00 ind/fish.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui salinitas optimal yang dapat mengendali Dactylogyrus sp. pada ikan patin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Biologi Laut, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Syiah Kuala pada Bulan Januari 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) non faktorial yang terdiri 5 perlakuan salinitas dan 4 ulangan yaitu (A) 0 ppt, (B) 7 ppt, (C) 8 ppt, (D) 9 ppt, dan (E) 10 ppt. Parameter yang diukur yaitu prevalensi, intensitas Dactylogyrus sp. tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan patin, serta parameter fisika kimia - kualitas air. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa salinitas berpengaruh nyata terhadap prevalensi dan intensitas Dactylogyrus sp., namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan patin. Tingkat intensitas dan prevalensi Dactylogyrus sp. terendah terdapat pada perlakuan 10 ppt dengan nilai 37,50% dan 1,00 ind/ekor
Efektivitas Anti Parasit Ekstrak Metanol Daun Pandan Semak Berduri (Pandanus Odoratissimus) Terhadap Mortalitas Lintah Ikan (Piscicola Geometra) Pada Ikan Nila (Oreochromis Niloticus)
The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Pandanus odoratissimus leaf on Piscicola geometra that infected tilapia fish Oreochromis niloticus. The research was conducted at Laboratory of Marine and Fisheries Faculty, and Laboratory of Chemistry, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Syiah Kuala University on June, 2015. This research was designed using non factorial completely randomized design, with seven treatments of concentration (0; 50; 60; 70; 80; 90 dan 100 ppm) and three repetitions. The highest mortality of P. Geometra found at concentration of was 100 ppm. The result of (ANOVA) showed P. Odoratissimus leaf gane the significant effect on the mortality of P. Geometra the optimum concentration of P. O. doratissimus leaf in this study was at 100 ppm and O. Niloticus (P<0.005). Identifikasi Bakteri Aeromonas Hydrophila Dengan Uji Mikrobiologi Pada Ikan Lele Dumbo (Clarias Gariepinus) Yang Dibudidayakan Di Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar
The purpose of this study was to identify and evaluate the prevalence of Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria that attack African catfish to in Aceh Besar district with the microbiological test. This study was conducted on March 2016. Samples were collected from the District recorded have African catfish fish in Aceh Besar district, namely the Baitussalam District. Observations conducted in the laboratory of Bacteria Quarantine Fish Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Class 1 Aceh. This study used a descriptive analytic and the conventional method where the sampling was done by a stratified random sampling method. Further, bacteria was isolated, the morphological of bacteria were observeted, pure cultures included Gram staining, catalase test, test oxidase, biochemical tests include tests Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), test Lysine Iron Agar (LIA), test citrate, test urea, test Oxidation / fermentative (O/F), Methyl Red test Vogue Proskuer (MRVP), carbohydrate fermentation test, test Motility Indol Ornithine (MIO)and the reading of the identification results were conducted.The result showed that three samples of African catfishfrom concrete pond, were positive infected with 100% prevalance attacked byAeromonas hydrophila. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi serta menghitung nilai prevalensi bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila yang menyerang ikan lele dumbo yang dibudidayakan di Kabupaten Aceh Besar dengan uji mikrobiologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan Maret 2016. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Pengamatan bakteri dilakukan di Laboratorium Bakteri Karantina Ikan Pengendalian Mutu dan Keamanan Hasil Perikanan Kelas 1 Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif analitik dan metode konvensional dimana pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode pengambilan acak terstratifikasi. Selanjutnya dilakukan isolasi bakteri, pengamatan morfologi, kultur murni meliputi uji Gram, uji katalase, uji oksidase, uji biokimia meliputi uji Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), uji Lysine Iron Agar (LIA), uji sitrat, uji urea, uji Oksidasi/Fermentatif (O/F), uji Methyl Red Vogue Proskuer (MRVP), uji fermentasi karbohidrat, uji Motility Indol Ornithin (MIO), dan pembacaan hasil identifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 3 sampel ikan lele dumbo dari kolam beton positif terinfeksi bakteri Aeromonas hydrophila dengan prevalensi yang menyerang ikan lele dumbo kolam beton 100%
Identifikasi Dan Prevalensi Endoparasit Pada Usus Ikan Bawal Air Tawar (Colossoma Macropomum) Kolam Budidaya Di Desa Nya, Kecamatan Simpang Tiga, Kabupaten Aceh Besar
The Purpose of this study were to identify the type of endoparasite and to find out the prevalance of endoparasite infected digestive tract of Colossoma macropomum. The study was conducted at parasitology Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine Faculty, Syiah Kuala University in May - June 2015. The sample used were collected randomly. As many as 10% of total fish in a population. The exa mination of endoparasite were carried out using smear method. Parameter measured were prevalence and physic – chemical of water. The results showed that type of endoparasite found in digestive tract of Colossoma macropomum fish was Capillaria sp. with the prevalence of 15%. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi jenis endoparasit yang menginfeksi dan mengetahui prevalensi endoparasit yang menginfeksi saluran pencernaan ikan bawal air tawar. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Parasitologi Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan, Universitas Syiah Kuala pada Bulan Mei dan Juni 2015. Penelitian menggunakan metode smear method dan penyamplingan sampel dilakukan secara acak. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian sebanyak 10% dari total ikan dalam satu populasi. Parameter yang diukur yaitu prevalensi dan parameter fisika – kimia air. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis endoparasit yang teridentifikasi pada ikan bawal air tawar adalah Capillaria sp. Aktivitas Hepatoprotektif Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kucing-kucingan Acalypha Indica L.) Pada Tikus Putih (Rattus Novergicus) Yang Diinduksi Parasetamol
The research has been conducted to determine hepatoprotective effect of ethanolic extract of Acalypha indica L. leaves on rats (Rattus novergicus) induced with paracetamol. The study was performed following a completely randomized design, using 45 male rats (Rattus novergicus) divided into 5 groups. Rats in group 1 (K1) were given CMC 1 % for 7 days and followed by aquadest administration 8 hours post given CMC on day 7. Group 2 was given CMC 1 % for 7 days and treated with paracetamol at dose 2,5 g/kg BW 8 hours post given CMC on day 7. Groups 3 (K3), 4 (K4), and 5 (K5) were pretreated with ethanolic extract of Acalypha indica L. leaves at the dose of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW for 7 days respectively, followed by paracetamol administration at the dose of 2.5 g/kg BW in the next 8 hours on day 7. Paracetamol hepatotoxicity and extracts activity were measured based on SGPT and SGOT activity level on day 0, 8 hours after last administration of extract on day 7, and 24 hours post paracetamol administration. Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA. The result showed that the administration of ethanolic extract of Acalypha indica leaves at the dose of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW was significantly reduced SGPT and SGOT level (P<0,05) in rats that were induced with paracetamol. Based on the results of SGPT and SGOT serum activity, it can be concluded that ethanolic extract of Acalypha indica L. potential as hepatoprotective agent

The objective of the present research was to find out the efficacy of Jatropha latex cream in the epithelialization phase of wound healing in mice skin. A total of 9 male mice aged 2-3 months old and the bodyweight of 25-40 g were divided into three treatment groups. Group A was given basic cream, group B was given Jatropha latex cream (10%), and group C was given sulfadiazine. The 2 cm incision wound was made in the paravertebral area. Wound therapy was carried out twice a day for 7 days. All quantitative data were measured using ANOVA then followed by the Duncan test. The number of angiogenesis on A, B, and C was 4.67±1.20; 12.78±2.52; and 11.33±2.33, while a number of fibroblasts were 179.56±12.69; 90.56±8.23; and 99.11±7.04, respectively. The average deposition of collagen was 1.46±0.12; 1.89±0.10; and 1.74±0.06, respectively. The statistical test showed that the number of angiogenesis, fibroblast, and deposition of collagen on group B was significantly different (P0.05). In conclusion, Jatropha latex cream (10%) able to accelerate the epithelialization phase of wound healing in mice skin
