Study of variances in some blood factors during sepsis diagnosis and their interrelations
Background and aims: Sepsis is one of the most common reasons of mortality among patients in intensive care unit, worldwide. Despite new supportive treatments and administration of high potent antibiotics, sepsis is overwhelmingly one of the risky factors in patient’s life. This study was carried out to compare values of some of the blood tests in sepsis diagnosis and to examine their interrelations in order to select a more practicable diagnosis method. Methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 30 patients with sepsis, hospitalized at ICU were selected. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), Platelet (PLT), and White blood cells (WBC) were measured in three stages: pre-sepsis, peri-sepsis, and post sepsis. Data analysis was conducted by SPSS using repeated measures ANOVA and paired t-test. Results: ESR, CRP, PLT, and WBC in peri sepsis were significantly higher than those in pre sepsis and post-sepsis (P<0.05). Comparing PCT mean level in post-sepsis was significantly lower than those in pre sepsis and post sepsis (P<0.05). Conclusion: Regarding the significant difference in ESR, CRP, and WBC in peri sepsis compared to pre - and post-sepsis in this study, these tests might be used as simple and inexpensive ones instead of PCT and C3 tests for the diagnosis of sepsis in ICU

Determining the prevalence of Cryptosporidium and measuring of micronutrients in cryptosporidiosis among children under 5 years in
Abstract: Background: Cryptosporidium is a worldwide protozoa and one of the most
important causes of diarrhea among under 5 years children and immunocompromized
patients. The majority of studies conducted about the parasite is in developed countries and
mainly focused on immunocompromized subjects. Also diarrhea and malnutrition are
common in young children in developing countries and a reciprocal relationship has been
postulated with diarrhea leading to malnutrition and malnutrition predisposing to diarrhea. ..

Rapid Prediction of Coastal Flooding with Deep Neural Networks
With the increasing impact of climate change and relative sea level rise, low-lying coastal communities face growing risks from extreme storm tides and recurrent nuisance flooding. Thus, timely and reliable predictions of coastal water levels are critical to resilience in vulnerable coastal areas. Over the past decade, enormous efforts have been made to utilize machine learning (ML) based data-driven models for the emulation and prediction of storm tides. However, flood advisory systems still rely on running computationally demanding real-time hydrodynamic models. because developing highly reliable ML-based models suitable for real-time forecasting and capable of capturing any surge levels is challenging. While ML-based models are very fast, challenges lie in ensuring reliability and ability to capture any surge level. In this research, we develop a deep neural network for spatiotemporal prediction of water levels in coastal areas. Our model relies on data from numerical weather prediction models as the atmospheric input and astronomical tide levels, while its outputs are time series of predicted water levels at several tide gauge locations. We utilized a CNN-LSTM setting as the architecture of the model. The CNN part extracts the features from an hourly sequence of gridded wind fields and fuses its output to several independent LSTM units. The LSTM units concatenate the atmospheric features with respective astronomical tide levels and produce water level time series. As an effort to fill a knowledge gap, we prioritized physical relation in the model by maintaining a high analogy to hydrodynamic modeling, either in the network architecture or in the selection of predictors and predictands. The results show that, with an average RMSE of 10.6cm, this setting yields a strong performance in predicting storm tides from minor to major levels

Investigating Cause and Effect Relationships and Prioritizing of GM Assessment Indexes based on Economic, Resources, Energy and Environmental Attributes and PSR Framework using Gray DEMATAL
Nowadays the role of green manufacturing (GM) in sustainable development is evident and irrefutable therefore organizations seek to introduce themselves green in order to maintain their image toward their community. The usual method of sustainability and greenness assessment of a system is making use of indicators and indexes which are classified into several groups based on their characteristics. An important type of index categorization is based on four sustainability attributes including economic, energy, environment and recourses as well as pressure-state-response model (PSR). Because of the research gap about interactions relationships on indexes and investigating their influence others and influence by others. Since, indexes in each group could be effective on other indexes and be overlapped to some extent, it is necessary to prioritize and evaluate cause and effect relations by use of an appropriate method. We consider the relationship and prioritize most important indexes to evaluate manufacturing' greenness based on aforementioned sustainability attributes and PSR model. Purpose data is gathered by survey GM experts questionnaires, including 41 indexes plus 4 mentioned attributes, totally as 45 factors in 13 groups. In order to data analysis, with respect to the non-certainty and insufficient information, Grey DEMATEL method is used.
