Macroeconomic Implications of Capital Inflows in India

    Get PDF
The study attempts to analyse the behaviour of some macroeconomic variables in response to total capital inflows in India using quarterly data for the period 1994Q1-2007Q4. Time trend of all variables except nominal effective exchange rate-both export and trade based and current account balance shows instability over the period of study. Current account balance is the only variable which is stationary in level form all other variables are stationary in first difference form. Cointegration test confirms the long run equilibrium relation between total capital inflows (TCI) and real effective exchange rate-both trade based and export based and between TCI and nominal effective exchange rate-export based. Granger causality test confirms the bidirectional causality between real effective exchange rate-export based and TCI and between foreign exchange reserve & TCI and unidirectional causality from TCI to real effective exchange rate-trade based.International Capital Inflows, Time Series Econometrics

Non-existence of certain type of convex functions on a Riemannian manifold with a pole

This paper is devoted to the study of non-existence of certain type of convex functions on a Riemannian manifold with a pole. To this end, we have developed the notion of odd and even function on a Riemannian manifold with a pole and proved the non-existence of non-trivial and non-negative differentiable odd convex function whose gradient is complete. Finally, we have deduced some isoperimetric type inequality related with convex function

The study attemts to analyse the behaviour of some macroeconomic variables in response to Total Capital Inflows in India using quarterly data for the period 1994-2007. The paper consist two sections, in first section we have analysed trend behaviour of macroeconomic variables included in the study. Time trend of all variables except NEERX, NEERT and CAB shows instability over the period of study. In second section we have have made an attempt to impirically analyse the behaviour of some macroeconomic variables. With the help of DF, ADF and Schmidt & Phillips test we have concluded that CAB is the only variable which stationary in level form all othe variables are stationary in first difference form. Cointegration test confirms the long run equilibrium relation between REERX & TCI, REET &TCI and between NEERX & TCI. Granger causality test confirms the bidirectional causality between REERX & TCI and between FOREX & TCI and unidirectional causality from TCI to REERT.peer-reviewe

Problems and Prospects of Islamic Banking: a case Study of Takaful

The paper is an attempt to analyse the working of Takaul in the world and its popularity in the insurance sector in the world. Keeping in view of Sharia we have also tried all possible aspects of insurance system popular in the world and tried to look at its possibility to familiarize more amongst Muslims of the world. It is observed that customer awareness remain low, however this is often attributed to a limited understanding of Islamic finance in the banking and insurance world. We wish to have a proper salesmanship and advertisement of Islamic banking system in India and all around the world.Islamic Banking, Takaful

Epidemiology and Economic Benefits of Treating Goat Coccidiosis

A study was carried out to determine the prevalence of Eimeria species and to compare the efficacy of Toltrazuril and Amprolium against coccidosis. Of the total 121 fecal samples examined for Eimeria, 67 (55.99%) were found infected with four species of Eimeria. Amongst the identified species, E. ninakohlyakimovae was the commonest one (49.25%) followed were E. arloingi, E. caprina and E. hirci with prevalence of 44.78, 25.37 and 19.40%, respectively. Kids had significantly (P<0.05) higher prevalence of Eimeria than adults. Higher prevalence of Eimeria was observed in female goats. Forty five Eimeria positive animals were randomly divided into three equal groups, i.e., groups A to C. Group A was treated with Amprolium (2g/40kg BW) and group B was treated with Toltrazuril (15mg/kg BW) for three days each while no drug was given to Group C. On day 7 post treatment, all goats of group B stopped shedding oocysts while 8 (53.33%) goats of group A stopped shedding oocysts. After the treatment, goats of group B gained 2.2 kg body weight over a period of 15 days compared 1.2 kg weight in group A. The lowest weight gain (0.5 kg) was in goats of group C (untreated control). No significant difference in milk yield of the three groups was recorded. It can be concluded that control of goat coccidiosis through single treatment of Toltrazuril is economically beneficial

This research was motivated by the desire of researchers to determine the role of parents and schools in anticipation of school dropouts in MTs Pesantren Al-Khoiriyah Turmeric River District Mempawah Year 2014-2015. Sub problem in this research are as follows: 1) how is the role of parents in anticipation of school children in boarding AL-Khoiriyah Turmeric River District Mempawah Year 2014-2015, 2) how the role of the school in anticipation of school children in boarding AL-Khoiriyah Turmeric River Mempawah Regency Year 2014-2015. The results showed: First, the role of parents and schools in anticipation of school dropouts in MTs Pesantren Al-Khoiriyah Turmeric River Mempawah Regency Year 2014-2015 ie, caregiving, instill a love between people, justly, pay attention to children's friends, put in a good environment. Second, the role of the school in anticipation of school dropouts in MTs Pesantren Al-Khoiriyah Turmeric River Mempawah Regency Year 2014-2015 is the school created a situation which could pose school students to remain at home in learning, making clear regulations, making the classroom a comfortable , good work between teachers and schools, the implementation of the BK good, good relationships between the school and parents

The performance of two mothers wavelets in function approximation.

Research into Wavelet Neural Networks was conducted on numerous occasions in the past. Based on previous research, it was noted that the Wavelet Neural Network could reliably be used for function approximation. The research conducted included comparisons between the mother functions of the Wavelet Neural Network namely the Mexican Hat, Gaussian Wavelet and Morlet Functions. The performances of these functions were estimated using the Normalised Square Root Mean Squared Error (NSRMSE) performance index. However, in this paper, the Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) was used as the performance index. In previous research, two of the best mother wavelets for function approximations were determined to be the Gaussian Wavelet and Morlet functions. An in-depth investigation into the two functions was conducted in order to determine which of these two functions performed better under certain conditions. Simulations involving one-dimension and two-dimension were done using both functions. In this paper, we can make a specifically interpretation that Gaussian Wavelet can be used for approximating function for the function domain [−1, 1]. While Morlet function can be used for big domain. All simulations were done using Matlab V6.5

Product to process lifecycle management in assembly automation systems

Presently, the automotive industry is facing enormous pressure due to global competition and ever changing legislative, economic and customer demands. Product and process development in the automotive manufacturing industry is a challenging task for many reasons. Current product life cycle management (PLM) systems tend to be product-focussed. Though, information about processes and resources are there but mostly linked to the product. Process is an important aspect, especially in assembly automation systems that link products to their manufacturing resources. This paper presents a process-centric approach to improve PLM systems in large-scale manufacturing companies, especially in the powertrain sector of the automotive industry. The idea is to integrate the information related to key engineering chains i.e. products, processes and resources based upon PLM philosophy and shift the trend of product-focussed lifecycle management to process-focussed lifecycle management, the outcome of which is the Product, Process and Resource Lifecycle Management not PLM only
