International Migration of Health Professionals and the Marketization and Privatization of Health Education in India: From Push-Pull to Global Political Economy
Health worker migration theories have tended to focus on labour market conditions as principal push or pull factors. The role of education systems in producing internationally oriented health workers has been less explored. In place of the traditional conceptual approaches to understanding health worker, especially nurse, migration, I advocate global political economy (GPE) as a perspective that can highlight how educational investment and global migration tendencies are increasing interlinked. The Indian case illustrates the globally oriented nature of health care training, and informs a broader understanding of both the process of health worker migration, and how it reflects wider marketization tendencies evident in Indiaâs education and health systems. The Indian case also demonstrates how the global orientation of education systems in source regions is increasingly central to comprehending the place of health workers in the global and Asian rise in migration. The paper concludes that Indian corporate health care training systems are increasingly aligned with the production of professionals orientated to globally integrated health human resource labour markets, and our conceptual analysis of such processes must effectively reflect these tendencies

Housing and Mobility Toolkit for San Mateo County
Since the end of the Great Recession, San Mateo County has attracted new workers at a record rate without building anywhere near enough housing. This jobs-housing imbalance drives the cost of housing up and forces many moderate and lower-income employees and their families out of the County. A lack of access to quality affordable housing in the County and the entire Bay Area along with limited transportation options means that an increased number of employees drive in and out of the County every workday. The resultant congestion, gridlock, and long commutes along with other negative environmental, social, and economic impacts create a major concern for communities in the County and beyond. Clearly, this problem has two distinct but interrelated dimensions: housing development and transportation planning. A select group of Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) Research Associates worked closely with representatives from the San Mateo County Home for All initiative to help address this challenge by developing a toolkit of successful case studies with a holistic approach to housing development and transportation planning

Online Film in China
The most recent major sale of a US film company was announced at the beginning of November 2016: âWanda buys Dick Clark Productionsâ.1 Who would have predicted this announcement ten years ago? The Chinese Dalian Wanda Group is about to buy Dick Clark Productions for about one billion USD; and with it the broadcasting rights to television programs that attract tens of millions of viewers every year: The Golden Globe Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards and the New Year countdown celebrations in New York. The latter, with an estimated reach of more than a billion, has become an iconic image of New Yearâs Eve festiv- ities
"You are the topic. You are the centre. You are the occasion. You are the reason why": A Study of the Key Strategies Employed by Four Contemporary UK Theatre Companies to Cultivate and Develop Audience Engagement
This thesis examines the role of four contemporary UK theatre companies, National Theatre Wales; Theatr Iolo; The Royal Court Theatre; Splendid Productions; and the strategies each of them employ in reaching out to and engaging with potential audiences. The background and origin of each of these companies is key to how they have developed, evolved and have made a significant contribution in making each of the companies and the work they produce unique. An ever-changing society has required an ever-changing range of strategies in order to produce work that is both relevant and meaningful to a contemporary audience. Incorporating evidence from publications, reviews and practitioner interviews the research study highlights how theatre audiences have significantly changed and how the four companies are challenging the traditional view of what is theatre. Each of them explores a variety of strategies, which go beyond simply buying a ticket and sitting in traditional theatre-watching actors on a stage. They recognize that in order to engage with audiences theatre must sometimes be taken to the audience and that engaging with the education sector is key to ensuring that theatre will continue to flourish with future generations
Integrating Intelligent Web Scraping Techniques in Internship Management Systems: Enhancing Internship Matching
The study explores the integration of intelligent web scraping techniques to enhance the internship matching process within internship management systems. The increasing demand for internships necessitates timely and efficient intern matching, a task that conventional manual techniques need help with due to its complexity and time-consuming nature. Intelligent web scraping algorithms and machine learning techniques analyze extensive datasets to match interns with businesses based on competencies, interests, and professional objectives. The integration leverages natural language processing to extract relevant information from internship listings and candidate profiles, enhancing the precision and effectiveness of the matching process. Additionally, clustering and matching algorithms refine recommendations, pairing students with opportunities that fit their competencies and career objectives. However, implementing intelligent web scraping raises ethical concerns, particularly regarding data privacy and algorithmic bias. Ensuring the ethical utilization of these techniques is critical for fair and unbiased internship matching. The research addresses these ethical considerations while proposing a framework for integrating intelligent web scraping into existing systems. The study reviews the literature on web scraping and machine learning in internship management, critically analyzing and synthesizing past research findings to demonstrate the efficacy of these techniques over conventional methods. The study also introduces a theoretical model for effective internship matching, investigating intelligent web scraping and machine learning techniques to optimize the process. Additionally, it examines the benefits, challenges, and limitations of integrating these techniques. The proposed intelligent web scraping approach simplifies internship matching, aligns student strengths with opportunities, enhances onboarding efficiency, and bridges academic learning with practical application.<br/
