Honored: 1997 Emily Russell Award
The Association of Christian Librarians in recognition of outstanding contribution to Christian librarianship awards the Emily Russel Award. The following article is a revision of the Emily Russel Award presentation made by Sheila Carib/om during the 1997 ACL Conference held at Northwestem College in St. Paul, Minnesota. In summary form, we have attempted to highlight the careers of the 1997 Emily Russel Award recipients
B Spectroscopy at Tevatron
Recent results on heavy flavor spectroscopy from the CDF and D0 experiments
are reported in this contribution. Using up to 1 fb-1 of accumulated luminosity
per experiment, properties of X(3872), excited B** states, and the B_c meson
are measured. Also included are measurements of production rates for ground
state b hadrons in ppbar collisions.Comment: This paper reflects the presentation on B spectroscopy at the Flavor
Physics and CP Violation'06 conference in Vancouver, Apr 9-12, 2006. To be
published in conferences proceeding
Traceable precision generation and measurement of pA direct currents
We present the comparison of results from the generation and the measurement
of direct currents in the pA range, performed with traceable state-of-the-art
methods at highest accuracy. The currents were generated with the capacitor
charging method, and measured with the first prototype of a novel picoammeter
developed at PTB. The results confirm the agreement between both methods and
the linearity of the new picoammeter at an uncertainty level of few microA/A.
Also, they shed light on the ac-dc difference of capacitors, crucial for
current generation with the capacitor charging method.Comment: 2 pages, 1 figure. Contribution (summary paper, to appear in IEEE
CPEM 2014 Conference Digest) accepted for presentation on the Conference on
Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM) 2014 in Rio de Janeiro

Accounting for hospices: Palliative care at risk
This paper is based on a presentation given at the British Accounting and Finance Association 46th Annual Conference in 30 March to 1 April 2010 at Cardiff City HallThis article is concerned with how the Government’s end of life care strategy seeks to draw upon the capacity and additional choice provided by voluntary charitable hospices in England. Constructing a hospice financial business model we consider the extent to which the policy intersection outlined in the Governments End of Life Care Strategy between Primary Care Trust (PCT) commissioning and the contribution of voluntary hospices is robust or fragile going forward
