Automated Reconstruction of Particle Cascades in High Energy Physics Experiments
We present a procedure for reconstructing particle cascades from event data
measured in a high energy physics experiment. For evaluating the hypothesis of
a specific physics process causing the observed data, all possible
reconstruction versions of the scattering process are constructed from the
final state objects. We describe the procedure as well as examples of physics
processes of different complexity studied at hadron-hadron colliders. We
estimate the performance by 20 microseconds per reconstructed decay vertex, and
0.6 kByte per reconstructed particle in the decay trees.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures. Submitted to Computational Science & Discover

The Conflict between Bell-Zukowski Inequality and Bell-Mermin Inequality
We consider a two-particle/two-setting Bell experiment to visualize the
conflict between Bell-\.Zukowski inequality and Bell-Mermin inequality. The
experiment is reproducible by local realistic theories which are not
rotationally invariant. We found that the average value of the Bell-\.Zukowski
operator can be evaluated only by the two-particle/two-setting Bell experiment
in question. The Bell-\.Zukowski inequality reveals that the constructed local
realistic models for the experiment are not rotationally invariant. That is,
the two-particle Bell experiment in question reveals the conflict between
Bell-\.Zukowski inequality and Bell-Mermin inequality. Our analysis has found
the threshold visibility for the two-particle interference to reveal the
conflict noted above. It is found that the threshold visibility agrees with the
value to obtain a violation of the Bell-\.Zukowski inequality.Comment: To appear in Modern Physics Letters
Searching for neutrino oscillations with OPERA
The OPERA experiment will search for neutrino oscillations using a muon
neutrino beam and a hybrid emulsion-scintillator detector. Basic principles,

Status of the MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR experiment
The MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR neutrinoless double beta-decay experiment is

A Pilot Experiment with Reactor Neutrinos in Taiwan
A Collaboration comprising Taiwan and mainland Chinese scientists has been
built up since 1996 to pursue a experimental program in neutrino and
astro-particle physics in Taiwan. A pilot experiment to be performed at the
Nuclear Power Station II in Taiwan is now under intense preparation. It will
make use of a 600 kg CsI(Tl) crystal calorimeter to study various neutrino
interactions. The feasibility of performing a long baseline reactor neutrino
experiment will also be investigated. The conceptual design and the physics to
