Traffic Sign Recognition System
The research group CAOS at the Computing Department of the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, offers an efficient recognition system for traffic signs using a set of classifiers. This system can be used as part of an active security system in cars. The fact that the system is based on a set of classifiers facilitates a distributed implementation, resulting in cheaper hardware and an improvement in fault-tolerance.Contrato Programa de Comercialización e Internacionalización. Self-referenced fibre-optic sensor for liquid detection and/or measurement
The optical technology developed by the Spanish University Carlos III of Madrid is related with carrying out measurements on liquid tanks. It allows detecting the liquid level using light, in an intrinsically safe way, without the risk of explosion of the electronic type techniques. We are looking for the collaboration of companies devoted to the development of instrumentation systems, specifically instrumentation for the storage and distribution of flammable liquids, fuel tanks manufacturers, as well as instrumentation for aircrafts and vehicles.Contrato Programa de Comercialización e Internacionalización. Use of corrugated steels in construction applications
The Research Group of Materials Performance works in the study of several corrugated steels, especially stainless steels. Different aspects are developed as corrosion tests and evaluation of welded joints, between similar and dissimilar materials. It is sought to find construction companies interested in the application of this technology.Contrato Programa de Comercialización e Internacionalización. Use of structural adhesive joints in construction applications
The Research Group of Materials Performance works in the development of structural adhesive joints and their performance in service in collaboration with some adhesive manufacturer companies. It is sought to increase the number of adhesive manufacturer companies to work with, as well as to find construction companies interested in the application of this technology.Contrato Programa de Comercialización e Internacionalización. Identity Management Technology
This offer comes from researchers and professors from a Spanish University. They offer solutions in Identity Management for human beings (from Identification Cards to Biometrics).
They offer cooperation in R&D task, as well as Assisting in Management, Dissemination of results and Standardization. They have proved experience in both national and european projects (e.g. eEpoch, BioSec).Contrato Programa de Comercialización e Internacionalización. The Importance of Boundary Conditions in Quantum Mechanics
We discuss the role of boundary conditions in determining the physical
content of the solutions of the Schrodinger equation. We study the
standing-wave, the ``in,'' the ``out,'' and the purely outgoing boundary
conditions. As well, we rephrase Feynman's prescription as a
time-asymmetric, causal boundary condition, and discuss the connection of
Feynman's prescription with the arrow of time of Quantum
Electrodynamics. A parallel of this arrow of time with that of Classical
Electrodynamics is made. We conclude that in general, the time evolution of a
closed quantum system has indeed an arrow of time built into the propagators.Comment: Contribution to the proceedings of the ICTP conference "Irreversible

Use of paints in construction applications
The Research Group of Materials Performance works in collaboration with some paint manufacturer and paint applier companies. It is sought to open the scope of this activity through tests that include and link activities of both sectors. This improvement will widen the application areas to construction companies.Contrato Programa de Comercialización e Internacionalización.
