Influence of stakeholders support on the use of public library services by children in Kaduna State
This study focused on the Assessment of stakeholders support in the use of public library services by children in Kaduna State. Three research questions were used in the study. The research questions sought to find out Stakeholders that provide support for children to use Public Libraries in Kaduna state, strategies implored in soliciting stakeholders support and how the stakeholders support has influenced the use of public library services by children in Kaduna State. The research method adopted was survey research method, the population of the study comprised of all the librarians in Kaduna State Public Libraries with the total of seventy eight (78) , since the population was not too large, there was no sample therefore the whole population was used. Structured questionnaire containing closed-ended questions was used. Data collected from the research questions was analyzed using frequency, tables and percentages. The findings of the study revealed that the public library services for children in Kaduna State lack adequate support from relevant stakeholders. Majority of the support gotten was from the State Government authors and publishers. The study concluded that there is need to encourage relevant stakeholders to support the use of public library services for children in Kaduna state. It was recommended among others that there should be a strong synergy between the relevant stakeholders in order to improve the use of public library services for children in Kaduna State.

Influence of Peer Pressure as a Determinant of Premarital Sexual Behaviour among Senior Secondary School Students in Kaduna State, Nigeria
This study investigated peer pressure influence on premarital sexual behaviour of senior secondary school students in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The population for the study comprised students in public senior secondary schools in the twenty-three Local Government Areas of Kaduna State. Simple random sampling was used to select Kaduna North senatorial zones from the three existing zones in Kaduna State. Nine schools from thirty-two senior secondary schools were randomly selected. The population of senior secondary schools in Kaduna North zone was 5,730 in 2010/2011. 50% (2,865) of the population was used as sample size. A total number of 1,655 males and 1,210 female students were used. In each of the nine (9) schools, 319 copies of questionnaire were administered to the Students using simple random sampling technique. The data collected were statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean, and standard deviation. The hypothesis was tested using one sample Z-test at 0.05 level of significance. It was found that, there is significant influence of peer pressure on premarital sexual behaviour among senior secondary school students in Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was recommended, that Kaduna State Ministry of Education to intensify awareness programme on premarital sexual behaviour through workshops or seminars for the students on how to deal with peer pressure, and other social pressures that may lead to sexual intercourse
Assessment of local publishers in the production of information resources for universal basic education programme in Kaduna State, Nigeria
The study Assessed Local Publishers in the Production of Information Resources for Universal Basic Education Programme in Kaduna State. The research objectives sought to identify major information resources been produced by the local publishers in Kaduna state for Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme, examine the effectiveness of local publishers in the production of information resources to the Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme. The population of this study comprised of the staff of the Social mobilization department of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board, the staff of Kaduna State Government Printers and the staff Kabido Printers publishing unit. Out of a population of 60, 52 were sampled from the staff of SUBEB, and 28 each for a population of 30 (for both State Government and Kabido publishing houses) makinga total of 108. Questionnaire was the instruments used in collecting data from the respondents. Simple random sampling procedure was used in selecting the respondents. A total of 108 copies of questionnaire were distributed to the respondents while 106 were filled, returned and used forthe analysis and the data collected from the respondents were organized and presented in frequency distribution tables, percentages and charts. Findings showed that textbooks 33(58.9%) are the major information resource produced by the local publishers (Kaduna State GovernmentPress and Kabido Press) as it is the basic information resource used by SUBEB for teaching and learning, contributions/services of Kaduna State Government Press and Kabido Press is effective as indicated 17(34%) of the SUBEB respondents 28(50%) of the publishers

The Effects of Covid-19 Pandemic on Purchasing Habits of Kaduna State Citizens
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown, consumers around the globe are facing difficulty in purchasing essential goods. This study examined the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the purchasing habits of Kaduna state citizens. For this purpose, it adopted an exploratory research design and concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has a significant negative impact on the purchasing habits of Kaduna State citizens in terms of fast-moving consumer goods. The study recommended that the Kaduna state government and its private sector should employ flexible supply chain strategies in order to ensure effective and efficient distribution of goods and services for the benefit of consumers
Adaptive technologies for library and information services for physically challenged in special education schools of Kaduna State
This study is an assessment of the use of adaptive technologies in library and information services for physically challenged in special education schools of Kaduna state. The researcher used survey research design for the study; the population for the study comprises library staff and students (physically challenged) of Kaduna state special education school (KASSES), Demonstration school for deaf children Kawo - Kaduna and Hope for the blind school Wusasa - Zaria. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample for the study. Questionnaire and observation were adopted as instrument for data collection. Descriptive statistics technique was used to analyze the data and supported by tables and figures to aid clarity and understanding. The findings shows that computer, hearing aids and tape recorders are the most available, suitable and mostly utilized in all special education schools in north western states of Nigeria. This was indicated by high response recorded for computers (50%). Suggestions were offered on how to generally improve use of adaptive technologies for library and information services in special education school libraries of Kaduna State. The study concludes that qualified and dedicated service librarians should be posted to work in special education school libraries of Kaduna State. The study recommends that the state ministry of education should find ways of enhancing the use of adaptive technology in these special education schools because; these are genuine demand from adaptive technology users of the library

This paper focuses on the opportunity cost of school feeding policy introduced by Kaduna State Governemnt Kaduna State Public Primary School like any other States suffers huge set back in terms of Teachers welfare infrastructural facilities Teachers training and development Teachers motivation among others It is on this basis that the study critiqued government choice of feeding pupils against addressing key fundamental issues confronting the core objectives of educational institutions like primary schools in the State The research solely relay on secondary sources of data while Victor Vroom s expectancy theory of motivation was adopted as a framework of analysis It was deduced from the reviewed literatures that free feeding policy is counterproductive as it does not seems to be the immediate needs of Kaduna State Public Primary Schools neither does it have the capacity to meet the core objectives of the policy Thus the paper see the policy as a way to achieve cheap political gain rather than an attempt to improve the educational standard of public Primary Schools in the State It is in view of the above that the paper recommends to the State government that Teachers welfare training and development infrastructural development should be the centre piece of Kaduna State education policy in Public Primary School
ASSESSMENT OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF COMMUNITY BASED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATIONS IN PROMOTING LITERACY IN UBE SCHOOLS IN KADUNA STATE, NIGERIA
This study assessed the contributions of Community Based Management Organizations in promoting Literacy in UBE schools in Kaduna State. The study was carried out with the objectives to assess the contributions of community based management organizations in promoting literacy in UBE schools in Kaduna State, and to find out the relevance of literacy towards community development. The study adopted survey research design with the target population of 4225 headmasters, 411 principals and 5301 teachers in UBE schools in Kaduna State. A sample size of 497 respondents was sampled from the entire population using random sampling technique which consisted of 211 headmasters, 21 principals and 265 teachers. A close ended questionnaire tagged “Contributions of Community Organizations in Promoting Literacy Questionnaire” was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts of the rank of senior lecturer in Measurement and Evaluation, English language and Curriculum. The reliability level of 0.85 was obtained using Cronbach alpha technique. The researcher with the help of three research assistants administered the questionnaire to the respondents. In answering the research questions, frequency counts, mean and standard deviation were used, while Kruskal-Wallis was used to test the formulated hypotheses at 0.5 level of significance. Finding revealed that community based management organizations contributed in promoting literacy in UBE schools in Kaduna State, and that literacy is relevant and play crucial role in community development. The study concluded that community based management organizations contributed in areas such as advocacy on enrolment, provision of textbooks, notebooks, biros, charts, maps, pictures, flashcards and so on, in promoting literacy in UBE schools in Kaduna State. Recommendations were put forward among others that community based management organizations should contribute more to the production and distribution of literacy and other instructional materials for UBE schools in Kaduna State.
