    This article aims to discuss the political activity of beginner voter education for high school students to realize the awareness of novice voters to participate in elections, understanding the importance of the role of novice voters in the democratic process, and knowledge of political developments for novice voters. The results achieved are the emergence of student enthusiasm in discussing matters related to political issues. It is quite visible that this is marked by the topics they discuss about elections that produce trustworthy leaders and then enlightenment given in understanding the importance of novice voters in participating the election was well received and the enthusiasm for conducting the election received a positive response from the students, but it was interesting because it turned out that students' understanding of the general election was more influenced by the media they watched such as TV and social medi

    Analysis of TikTok Utilization as a Reference Source for Students of UIN North Sumatra Library Science Study Program

    This paper examines the use of TikTok as a reference source by students in the Library Science Study Program at the University of North Sumatra with the view of determining its suitability for academic supplement. In the world where digital media and social platforms are widely used in education the concept of non-traditional sources such as TikTok is helpful. This research uses interview, observation and documentation as its data collection techniques and the data collected will be analyzed using the techniques presented by Miles and Huberman. The study shows that despite the fact that TikTok is famous for sharing informative and interesting videos, it is not well used by students as the main academic source. Some students are still skeptical, and therefore, rely on conventional learning materials, including books and scholarly journals, because of concerns relating to TikTok’s academic credibility and the risk of fake news. From the study, one can infer that social media platforms such as TikTok need to be incorporated in academic practices but in moderation while useful, they should not replace conventional sources. This research aims to add to the body of knowledge about digital literacy in higher education institutions and offers the educators an idea of how to encourage use of social media technologies and at the same time helping the students to remain active and critical evaluators of information

    The purpose of this research is to provide a detailed explanation of the stunting literacy approach implemented by the Labuhanbatu Utara Regency Library and Archives Office to increase public awareness and understanding of stunting. This research uses qualitative analysis using the Miles and Huberman paradigm to gain insight into the librarian's point of view. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The Library and Archives Office of Labuhanbatu Utara Regency implemented various initiatives aimed at increasing public understanding and awareness of stunting. These activities include improving literacy collection development by offering a variety of library materials, fostering partnerships with related organizations, and providing access to Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) services. Working with BKKBN, the Health Office, academics and health workers. Social promotion and campaign: Involves disseminating information through several media channels and organizing social campaigns. Devotion of local government Collaboration between various agencies Compilation of extensive literacy resources to address stunting. To achieve success, it is crucial to have active involvement and support from community members and leaders.     Utilisation of Vignettes Instructional Method and Ethical Sensitivity in Decision-Making among Business Studies Teacher Trainees at the University of Nairobi, Kenya

    Vignettes have been applied in many academic disciplines over time, as an essential element of experiential learning. At the Department of Educational Communication and Technology, adoption of vignettes instructional method by instructors remains slow, while application by early adopters remains inconsistent. Despite this, little is known about how utilisation of vignettes to teach business ethics at the Department influences teacher trainees’ ethical sensitivity in decision-making. The cross-sectional survey design guided the research process, and primary data were sourced in 2018 from 116 learners. Both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques were applied. Key results show that trainees who strongly agreed that utilisation of vignettes influenced their ethical sensitivity in decision-making had about 2 times the odds of being ethically sensitive in their decisions as their colleagues who expressed strong disagreement about the same. Besides, those who agreed that utilisation of vignettes influenced their ethical sensitivity in decision-making were about 1.9 times as likely to make ethically sensitive decisions as those who indicated strong disagreement. On aggregate, utilisation of vignettes caused a positive and significant influence on trainees’ ethical sensitivity in decision-making. It also emerged third in the order of relative importance. Notably, the more the trainees appreciated that utilisation of vignettes influenced their ethical sensitivity in decision-making, the higher odds of making ethically sensitive decisions. Thus, improving trainees’ knowledge on the various parameters of vignettes’ utilisation is likely to enhance their ethical sensitivity in decision-making. This may be achieved by dedicating a section of training modules on optimisation of vignette utilisation

    Using Instagram to Improve Students’ Ability and Interest in Writing Descriptive Paragraph

    This research aimed at finding out the improvement of the students’ writing ability and interest by using Instagram as media. To find out the improvements, the writer used pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design and questionnaire. The population of this research was the eleventh-grade students’ at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar, academic year 2017/2018. The sample was class XI IPA taken by purposive sampling technique which consisted of 10 students. It employed five meetings (one meeting for pre-test, three meetings for treatment, and one meeting for post-test and questionnaire). It employed writing test as instrument. The research findings indicated that the application of using Instagram was effective in improving the students’ writing skill in term of content and organization. It was proved by the value of the total t-test was 6.30, which was higher than the value of t-table (1.833). This indicated that (H1) was accepted, and (H0) was rejected. It means that there was a significant difference of the students’ writing skill before and after using Instagram in classroom. The students’ interest in writing also improved after the treatment. It was shown by students’ answers in the questionnaire. Most students gave positive respons toward the use of instagram to improve their interst in writing, even they think that this method can be applied in classroom to attract their attention and interest. Therefore, this research is very useful for learning process as a reference for teachers to teach in classroom

    The purpose of this study was to examine teachers’ perceptions of multiple trade unions in promoting professional development among teachers. The study objective specifically was; to examine teachers ‘perceptions of multiple trade unions in promoting professional development among Teachers. The study was in form of qualitative, it was a case study design involving ten public secondary school (A-J) in Dodoma city council. The population were Trade Unions’ Members, Trade Unions’ Leaders and Tanzania Registrar of Trade Unions. The sampling procedure used was purposive only, the sample size of 44 participants was employed. Two research instruments were used (focused group discussion and interview). Data was analyzed by using six stages of thematic analysis. The findings revealed teachers’ perceptions of multiple trade unions to promote professional development such as; reformation of the law of labour relation and education policy, collaboration between trade unions and the government in educational issues .Also to establish some programs such as trainings, workshops and seminars to promote teachers‘ professionalism. The government  recommended to change the law of labour relation so as to reboots trade unions activities .Thus leaders of multiple trade unions were advised to re-examining the leadership  and make restorations where necessary to make sure that unions’ activities are revived once again.
