The central purpose of the article is to highlight the nature, the place and the main features of future teachers’ leadership development through foreign language learning. So, this practical research is conducted to investigate the leadership qualities with their characteristics and classification. In order to do so, a general overview of leadership development is presented. As a part of the study, our attention is focused on several key aspects which have a groundbreaking influence on forming leadership qualities and personal development according to our observation. These are critical thinking, foreign language speaking skills and learning motivation, which are fully examined and discussed. In modern society leadership qualities predominate in a career climbing and successful advancement. Critical thinking helps a person to set specific goals, act immediately and decide without any debate, make a choice and judgment. Foreign language speaking skills are required by rapid globalization and human mobility. At the same time they offer the challenge for improvement and development with no geographical borders. And with no doubt, a high learning motivation provides the development of each above mentioned key aspects. So, our research aims to show these three aspects’ relevance in leadership qualities development.
Distinguishing the Social Sector: A Buffalo-Niagara Labor Market Study
The study focuses on the two largest parts of Buffalo-Niagara’s social sector: nonprofit and government employers
Development of predicting model for safety behaviour based on safety psychology and working environment
The increasing trend of occupational accident due to unsafe act and unsafe condition especially in construction site suggests the need for more proactive safety assessment model. Therefore this research aimed to establish a prediction model of safety behaviour based on safety psychology and working environment factors in construction site. Theory of Planned Behaviour (TpB) was adapted to examine on the prediction model of safety behaviour among construction workers using safety psychology representing unsafe act and working environment factors representing unsafe condition. A modified perception questionnaire named Safety Psychometric Model (SPM) was proposed based on TpB questionnaire and safety attitude questionnaire (SQA). Previously, the approach has successfully applied in health care and manufacturing sector. The questionnaire has been validated by three industrial and academic experts. A total of 554 respondents among 92 construction site were selected as the subjects for analysis. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) was use for analysis purpose which involve correlation, regression and structural equation analysis. The results demonstrated that safety psychology and work environment factor was related positively with safety behaviour intention. The elements of workers’ attitude, subjective norm and perceived control that form the safety psychology context found to be significantly has the ability to predict safety behaviour. The demographics variances of personal and education background, working experiences and training background also determine as the factors of safety behaviour of the construction workers. The research also successfully established a safety behaviour prediction model that named Safety Psychometric Model. The model can be benefited by safety practitioners, organizations and researchers to explore the safety behaviour prediction. It also enhanced the knowledge in the area of employee behaviour prediction and modelling
Comparative analysis of the returns to education in Germany and Hungary (2000)
In this study standard Mincer earnings equations are estimated using both ordinary least squares (OLS) and quantile regression in order to give a comprehensive picture of the returns to education in Germany and Hungary for the year 2000. To make the cross-country comparison of the returns to education informative, six differentiated categories for formal education, rather than years of schooling, are generated and used in the empirical analysis. Moreover, the returns to three and eight field of study groups for Germany and Hungary respectively are estimated in order to shed more light on the valuation of specific university degree. Most importantly, the empirical results provide evidence for the fact that the OLS estimate is not an accurate estimate of the return to education for the population (more specifically for the selected samples). That is, the estimates of the quantile regressions point to the fact that differences in returns to education within educational groups contribute significantly to aggregate earnings inequality, especially in Hungary
Is a Skills Shortage Coming? A Review of BLS Occupational Projections to 2005
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projections of occupational employment growth have consistently underpredicted the growth of skilled occupations. BLS currently projects that professional, technical and managerial jobs will account for 40.9 percent of employment growth between 1990 and 2005. Forecasting regressions predict, to the contrary, that these occupations will account for 53 to 68 percent of employment growth through the year 2005. Between 1986 and 1991 these occupations, in fact, accounted for 64 percent of employment growth. The BLS\u27s projections of the supply/demand balance for college graduates have also been off the mark--predicting a surplus for the 1980s when in fact a shortage developed and relative wage ratios for college graduates rose to all time highs. I project a slowdown in the growth of college educated workers during the 1990s and a continuing escalation of wage premiums for college graduates
System dynamics advances strategic economic transition planning in a developing nation
The increasingly complex environment of today's world, characterized by technological innovation and global communication, generates myriads of possible and actual interactions while limited physical and intellectual resources severely impinge on decision makers, be it in the public or private domains. At the core of the decision-making process is the need for quality information that allows the decision maker to better assess the impact of decisions in terms of outcomes, nonlinear feedback processes and time delays on the performance of the complex system invoked. This volume is a timely review on the principles underlying complex decision making, the handling of uncertainties in dynamic envrionments and of the various modeling approaches used. The book consists of five parts, each composed of several chapters: I: Complex Decision Making: Concepts, Theories and Empirical Evidence II: Tools and Techniques for Decision Making in Complex Environments and Systems III: System Dynamics and Agent-Based Modeling IV: Methodological Issues V: Future Direction
Exploratory Category Structure of the Formation of Intellectual Capital
The objective of the present work was to specify a model for the study of governance training. The theory intellectual capital essentially means that there is an indirect relationship between vocational training and job placement. Leadership styles are mediators in this process because they transfer values and norms that guide needs and expectations, as well as skills and knowledge to carry out the tasks and achieve the achievements. A non-experimental, documentary, cross-sectional and exploratory study was carried out with a selection of sources indexed to Latin American leading repositories, considering the publication period and ISSN and DOI registration; Dialnet, Latindex, Publindex, Redalyc and Scielo repositories. Since the specified model can be contrasted, the inclusion of factors such as empowerment and entrepreneurships are recommended to establish the scope and limits of the model
