The Spirit of God moves within the chapters of time, uniting the inward seasons of the soul with the outward measures of calendar time. After much prayer and deliberation, it is the feeling of many that the time is right for a world gathering of young Friends. A world gathering of any sort is a gigantic undertaking! The expenses in terms of travel, time, and coordinative efforts are immense. However, in light of the values of such a gathering, the expenses seem minimal. The following are but a few values that could result from such a gathering

“Color directly influences the soul. Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another purposively, to cause vibrations in the soul” ― Wassily Kandinsky 「1」.
With the progress of the times and the development of society, the main social contradiction has been transformed into the contradiction between the people's growing need for a better life and the unbalanced and insufficient development「2,p.11」. What we can see is that people's material living conditions are now beginning to be satisfied, and this is when the spiritual world begins to take a new direction of the pursuit. The aim of this article is to provide a new form for people to experiencing and appreciating art – “second feeling” (“watching” music and “listening” to painting) based on the “first feeling” of listening to music and watching paintings. By using research methods such as historical analysis, art oeuvres analysis and art criticism the author analyze, compare and criticize artists' thoughts and art oeuvres in the perspective of the stated aim. The first feeling occurs when you look at a picture and listen to music. But when people begin to penetrate deeper into the meaning of works of art, they have associations, they feel art on a spiritual level. Then one can “watching” the music in the picture and “listening” to painting in music.
The author came to the conclusion that people strive for a higher appreciation and enjoyment of the spiritual world after the material conditions of their existence have appeared. People develop a more subtle and deeper appreciation and enjoyment of the spiritual world at the associative level
Generosity And Mechanism In Descartes's Passions
Descartes’s mechanistic account of the passions is sometimes dismissed as one which lacks the resources toadequately explain the cognitive aspect of emotion. By some, he is taken to be “feeling theorist”, reducing thepassions to a mere awareness of the physiological state of the soul-body union. If this reading of Descartes’spassions is correct, his theory fails not only because it cannot account for the intentional nature of the passions,but also because the passions cannot play the role in Descartes’s moral theory they are meant to play. I arguethat Descartes’s account is not best read as a feeling theory. I defend a reading of the Cartesian passions whichacknowledges their mechanistic nature, arguing that for Descartes, passions are modes of the soul withcognitive significance, they are perceptions of relational axiological properties. Thus, Descartes’s theory of thepassions has the resources to connect it with an account of good conduct. As a means of elaborating on thenormative nature of the passions I consider the role of generosity in Descartes’s moral theor

The notion of the will in the old testament: a contribution to the understanding of Talmudic thought
On examining the psychological usages of the Old Testament, and
taking into consideration the style of Hebrew thought and expression,
it is found that all the elements of man which are generally thought
of as associated with, or originating in the Will, such as the
principle of life, consciousness, mind, feeling, volition, and
character are considered as activities of the Soul. These psychical
activities are described by various Hebrew terms which are so often
interchangeable that the activities of the Soul appear to be shared
by both Spirit and Body, and the place of the Soul may be traced
almost to any part of the entity of man* The functioning of the
Soul, the exercise of Reason and the Senses and the initiation and
prosecution of movement are all considered as the activities of man
as a whole, as a single dynamic personality.The unique creativeness and independence of human personality
is one of the great conceptions of Jewish religious thought and is
in no way diminished, but rather enhanced, by the worship of God and
by obedience to God's law.The principle of the freedom of the Will is universally assumed
in the Old Testament, Jewish Apocryphal literature and Rabbinic
literature as the basis of Jewish ethics and theology. It is
possible for man to perfect his own personality by training his
character through the proper exercise of thought, emotion and habit.
The religious system of the Torah is effective in engendering the
best attitudes of thought and feeling, in deterring man from evil,
and in inspiring him to do good.In mediaeval Jewish philosophy where Free Will is unequivocally

almost coincide with each other except that in the concept of Daath
it is seen that the Will transcends both Mind and Soul and is the
basic agent of Personality.Whatever faculties man possesses, both physical and psychical,
are faculties of the Will. The attributes of the Will coincide,
in Hebrew thought, with the powers of the central force of human
personality. The Will may therefore be stated to correspond with
the entire Self, Ego or Personality of man.That which is generally identified with the Will is spoken of
in the Old Testament and in Rabbinic literature as the choice, mood
or energy of the man. The totality of the power of the Will is far
more than just a capacity of the individual; it is rather the power
of the individual as a whole.The power of the Will is nothing more nor less than the entire
power of the man
