Pre-service Possibilities: Reconsidering \u27\u27Art for the Elementary Educator
Art for the Elementary Educator courses are sites of possibility in the field of art education, particularly art education oriented toward curriculum integration and meaningful art experiences. Drawing on literature about Art for the Elementary Educator courses and our own teaching experiences we make recommendations for reconsidering possible futures for this course as related to the future of art education. We believe that this course, its students, instructors, and course materials are worthy of sustained attention by the art education community. Ultimately, we argue that art education appreciation and advocacy, concepts we define in our concluding remarks, should be primary objectives for such classes. Reconsidering Art for the Elementary Educator in light of these ideas requires renewed examination of course content, student dispositions, instructor preparation, and teaching and learning resources

Art to empower: designing and implementing a contemporary visual culture art education for urban elementary institutions with implications for classroom practice
The following paper offers a comprehensive historiography of the curricular trends and approaches for the teaching of elementary visual arts within the discourse of Art Education. The exploration begins with an overview of the modernist, Discipline Based Art Education curriculum, including its origins and implementation within the U.S., public K-8 school system. In this section I offer an assessment of DBAE???s curricular strengths and weaknesses. Next, the text moves into an examination of post-modern, contemporary curricular approaches to teaching visual arts, more specifically, the visual culture theory. With this, I introduce a discussion about the current reality of arts education within the urban, public school system of Chicago, Illinois. This section offers insight into current art education trends and exposes the discrepancy of resources for visual arts education among Chicago???s elementary institutions. Finally, I offer a sample visual arts curriculum designed to empower students to take responsibility for their learning and success
Proper Classroom Management is Essential for an Effective Elementary School Classroom
I am an elementary education major and have a deep love for seeing children make connections, and learn about not only academics but moral values and life lessons. As much as I have learned in different classes over the past four years of my education, I have learned the most during my Practicum and Student Teaching experience as I really have gotten to run my own classroom. I believe that classroom management is the most important tool of strong learning. It provides the atmosphere students need to learn to their best ability. My thesis paper discusses why classroom management is essential to any effective classroom at an elementary school level. I will implement theories of some well-noted authors in the education field, along with sharing my personal experiences in my Practicum and Student Teaching journey. Explored are the reasons behind why a classroom should be managed well, safety issues, relationships, teacher reflection, and more

is 0,794 for the highest and 0,221 for the lowest. Reliability test results showed
that the alpha reliability coefficient is 0.945. Moreover, the techniques of data
analysis are using descriptive statistical analysis and gap analysis.
Findings –The result of the analysis shows that there are1) the gap of teachers’
pedagogic competency is 23.07 %, 2) the gap of teachers professional competency
is 30 % , dan 3) the gap of pedagogic and professional competencies includes;(a)

Pre-service Teachers’ Conceptions of Mathematical Argumentation
Drawing on a situated perspective on learning, we analyzed written, open-ended journals of 52 pre-service teachers (PSTs) concurrently enrolled in mathematics and pedagogy with field experience courses for elementary education majors. Our study provides insights into PSTs’ conceptualizations of mathematical argumentation in terms of its meanings. The data reveals how PSTs perceive teacher actions, teaching strategies, classroom expectations, mathematics content, and tasks that facilitate student engagement in mathematical argumentation. It also shows what instructional benefits of enacting mathematical argumentation in the elementary mathematics classroom they perceive
