Abstract
Interpersonal communication of former woman prisoners in self-adaptation and relationaldevelopment to the value of ‘ade siri' of Bugis-Makassar society. Focus of this study ishow interpersonal communication of former women prisoners in conducting interpersonal relationaldevelopment to Bugis-Makassar society. This research aims to discovering and categorizinginterpersonal relational development, describing the step pattern of interpersonal relationaldevelopment of former woman prisoners, and the potrait of impression management throughverbal and non verbal language in developing their interpersonal relation with old significantothers and new significant others. To achieve the aim of this research, it is conducted by usingqualitative research methode or interpretative paradigm. According to qualitative research methode,so the data collection is can be conducted through non-participatory observation or nonroleobservation, in-depth interview, documentary study to collect relevant data to the researchof Bugis-Makassar subculture.Interpersonal relational development conducted by former womenprisoners that found in this research is opened, semi-opened, and closed. The determination ofzone area influenced by internal factor (in self) of former women prisoners included the proximityof siri' owned and external factor (out self) or significant others
