サルモネラにかける抗原の人工變換 (V) E2群O抗原特異多糖類の化學的分析

Abstract

A Boivin type of antigens was prepared from agar cultures of S. newington C2 and from these antigens specific antigenic polysaccharide was extracted. Monosaccharide composition of the specific polysaccharide was analysed by paper partition chromatography, which revealed the presence of the following substances : mannose, galactose, glucose, rhamnose, glucosamine, N-acetylglucosamine, a hexuronic acid and an unknown carbo-hydrate which moves very slowly. Qualitatively these components are the same as those of specific polysaccharide of S. anatum in E1 group of Salmonella or those of S. senften-berg in E3 group of Salmonella. These facts suggest that the serological specificity of respective O antigens of E1, E2or E3, group of Salmonella depends upon quantitative differences of these constituental monosaccharides or upon differences of spacial arrangement of these components in specific polysaccharide
