Abstract

To the north of the perimeter wall of the mortuary temple of Thutmose III in Luxor, a rocky promontory was excavated that preserves small tombs from the First Intermediate Period and early Middle Kingdom. In 2018, at the base of this promontory, the partially mummified corpse, probably by natural processes, of a woman was found. She had been placed in a prone position, with stones on top of the wooden coffin and with a small mound of stones on top of the burial.
