Support in the review of information, systematization, data analysis, and monitoring of social indicators of the District Plan for Urban Silviculture, Green Areas, and Gardening for Bogotá-PDSUZVJ (2019-2030)

Abstract

La importancia del arbolado urbano en una ciudad como Bogotá no solo reside en los beneficios ambientales que ofrece, sino también en su capacidad para transformar los espacios públicos y fomentar una relación más cercana entre la comunidad y su entorno. Las actividades silviculturales, lideradas por entidades como el Jardín Botánico de Bogotá (JBB), la Unidad Administrativa Especial de Servicios Públicos (UAESP) y la Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá (EAAB), buscan fortalecer esta conexión a través de proyectos que involucren activamente a los ciudadanos en la plantación, cuidado y mantenimiento del arbolado urbano. Sin embargo, garantizar que estos proyectos perduren en el tiempo requiere un enfoque integral que no solo contemple la siembra de árboles, sino también un acompañamiento social que asegure la apropiación de estos espacios por parte de la comunidad. Este informe presenta un análisis de cómo la comunidad bogotana ha participado en las actividades silviculturales realizadas por estas entidades, con especial énfasis en la necesidad de mejorar las estrategias de acompañamiento social para fomentar la cohesión comunitaria, el cuidado continuo de los árboles plantados, y establecer una trazabilidad cercana entre las entidades prestadoras de estos servicios y la población.The importance of urban trees in a city like Bogotá lies not only in the environmental benefits they offer, but also in their ability to transform public spaces and foster a closer relationship between the community and its environment. Forestry activities, led by entities such as the Bogotá Botanical Garden (JBB), the Special Administrative Unit for Public Services (UAESP) and the Bogotá Water and Sewer Company (EAAB), seek to strengthen this connection through projects that actively involve citizens in the planting, care and maintenance of urban trees. However, ensuring that these projects endure over time requires a comprehensive approach that not only contemplates the planting of trees, but also social support that ensures the appropriation of these spaces by the community. This report presents an analysis of how the Bogotá community has participated in the forestry activities carried out by these entities, with special emphasis on the need to improve social support strategies to foster community cohesion, the ongoing care of planted trees, and establish close traceability between the entities providing these services and the population.Secretaría Distrital de Ambient
