ABSTRAK
Ektoparasit seperti caplak merupakan salah satu faktor
penyebab turunnya produktivitas produk peternakan khususnya
ternak sapi bali membutuhkan anlisis mendalam guna pencegahan
Kecamatan Sukoharjo Kabupaten Pringsewu.

ABSTRACT
Ectoparasites such as ticks are one of the factors causing
the decline in productivity of livestock products, especially beef
cattle. Ticks can act as disease-carrying agents that can attack
livestock. The lack of studies regarding tick infestation or
abundance, especially in Pringsewu district, as well as the
incidence of hard tick infestation in Bali cattle requires in-depth
analysis for prevention and control. This study aims to determine
the relationship and strength of the causal factors with the
infestation of hard ticks of the Ixodidae family on Bali cattle in
Sukoharjo subdistrict, Pringsewu district. The abundance or
distribution of hard ticks in nature is greatly influenced by
environmental factors, temperature, air humidity, season, while
host factors such as gender and age of the livestock also influence
it. This research was conducted with a cross-sectional and casecontrol design, through surveys and observations, non-parametric
data analysis using the chi-square test, the strength of the
relationship was measured by the odds ratio and prevalence ratio
using SPSS version 22.0. There are 5 factors that are associated
with the incidence of tick infestation (p < 0.05) and are correlated
as risk factors for the incidence of hard tick infestation in Bali
cattle, namely poor maintenance management, guiding and
grazing cattle with other animals/cattle, grazing cattle in different
places. cows in different places and bathing cattle in the open.
