Abstract

Riverside Park is one of the early parks established in Indianapolis as part of the City Beautiful Movement during the early 1900s. This view shows the park nursery and office. The City Beautiful Movement inspired Indianapolis officials to clean up land around waterways and establish an interconnected system of parks.This image is a preservation copy made from an unstable original nitrate negative.
