Abstract

President Edward C. Elliott brought record setting aviator Amelia Earhart to Purdue as part of his efforts to promote educational opportunities for women. She joined the faculty in the fall of 1935, serving as a counselor in the study of careers for women and an advisor in aeronautics.Use of this image is restricted to projects related to Destination Indiana.
