Camera Trip Through Camp Atterbury, Drilling and Classes in the Field

Abstract

Camp Atterbury opened in 1942 and trained over 250,000 soldiers during World War II. From the spring of 1943 until 1946 a portion of the base was used to house Italian and later German prisoners of war. In 1969 the state acquired most of the land and it is used by the Indiana National Guard and the Department of Natural Resources.Destination Indiana Bartholomew County Journe
