Una Traducció catalana medieval de les Epistolae Senecae ad Paulum et Pauli ad Senecam

Abstract

El manuscrit Burney 252 de la British Library (segle XV) conté una traducció catalana fins ara no inventariada de les Epistolae Senecae ad Paulum et Pauli ad Senecam, una correspondència apòcrifa ja documentada per sant Jeroni. Una anàlisi exhaustiva determina que aquesta versió no té a veure ni amb el text llatí que l'acompanya en el mateix còdex britànic ni, en principi, amb les altres traduccions romàniques conservades de l'obra (castellana i italianes).The manuscript Burney 252 (15 th. century) in the British Library, contains a hitherto unrecorded Catalan translation of the Epistolae Senecae ad Paulum et Pauli ad Senecam, apocryphal correspondence documented by St. Jerome. An exhaustive analysis reveals that this version has nothing to do either with the Latin text that accompanies it in the same British codex or, it would appear, with the other Romance translations of the work that have survived (Castilian and Italian)
