Real modularity in dynamic system simulation languages

Abstract

The introduction of real modularity in dysnamic system simulation languages, as defined in general purpose programming languages, provides possibilities for easier re-use and better quality of submodels. This paper presents two basic lemmas that must be followed by the developer of a modular system simulation language. The lemmas have been tested empirically in the dynamic modular object oriented simulation language OOSlim. The findings indicate that, in contrast to most contemporary simulation language implementations, the flat sorting process must be performed at run-time
