The Vitreous Glycoprotein Opticin Inhibits Preretinal Neovascularization

Abstract

An opticin null mouse was generated and analyzed. The lack of opticin promoted preretinal neovascularization in the oxygen-induced retinopathy model. Excess opticin inhibited neovessel formation, so opticin inhibits pathological angiogenesis in a dose-dependent manner
