E. coli DNA replication in the absence of free β clamps

Abstract

Single-molecule observations reveal that replicative DNA polymerases can surprisingly conduct lagging-strand synthesis with only a stoichiometric amount of sliding clamps, while they had so far been thought to hop from one clamp to another pre-assembled clamp on the next Okazaki fragment
