Benchmarking with Global No.1s, MMU is Soaring Upwards

Abstract

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) system, the only international ranking to have received International Ranking Expert Group (IREG) approval, continues to publish the global universities' overall and subject rankings. based on QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017 released earlier in March , Multimedia University (MMU) are again is listed together with the world's best in two specific subjects and two broad subject areas. MMU is recognised to be in the Top 200, in QS World University Rankings by Subject (Electrical and Electronic Engineering). This preserved its reputation as Malaysian No. 1 private University for the third consecutive year, which in this specialisation, MMU is at par with other distinguished institutions such as Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (China); Ecole Polytechnique (France); Hokkaido University (Japan); and Queensland University of Technology (Australia). MMU also rose in QS World University Rankings by Subject (Computer Science and Information Systems). In an upper place than last year, at #251-300, MMU today, is the leading Malaysian private university in this specific subject. With a small gap i.e. shoulder to shoulder with UTP in this programme, MMU looks forward to rising even higher, being more competitive alongside the elder public universities in the country. Furthermore, MMU is listed in two out of five broad subject areas for the first time. In Social Sciences and Management, at #451-500, MMU is the only Malaysian private university to be listed in this ranking. This placement is just below some of the globally -reputed institutions like Universitat Bremen (Germany); Washington State University (USA); and Coventry University (UK), among others. Congratulations
