High speed optical processing via four-wave-mixing in a silicon waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate all-optical demultiplexing at 160 Gigabits per second in the C-band, based on nonlinear optics using four-wave mixing (FWM) in a silicon nanowire. We achieve error-free operation with a penalty of ~ 3.9dB.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, 25 reference
