AbstractIn this article, we focus on a single student who uses the Internet as a learning environment in informal instrument learning. Our research explores one individual, “Rane” and the way he studies guitar playing in an Internet environment. We consider what kinds of teachers motivate him and which programmes encourage him in learning. Furthermore, we try to determine the paths by which his learning processes progress. The Internet as a learning environment is explored as a case study of an informal learner. The empirical part of the research is done through observing and interviewing the informant, “Rane”.
