Some of the medical problems noted in one group of Vietnamese refugees prior to leaving the Kai Tak North Medical Centre in Hong Kong during February and March 1980 for resettlement in Canada are described in this article. Some insight is given into the illnesses and attitudes present in the refugees before (and therefore to some extent after) that long plane ride to a new life in Canada
