This report ISB52-07 was produced under Project 52 of the Invest to Save Budget, or ISB. The aim of this project is to improve atmospheric pollution dispersion models with the goal of improving air quality forecasting. During the project life, the team will be developing a better understanding of airflow near the earth’s surface, focussing especially on urban meteorology. This will be achieved through the gathering of accurate 3-Dimensional wind flow data using laser radars, also called
lidars, and by incorporating that new knowledge into the dispersion models. In support of the dual lidar observations, measurements of other parameters describing the characteristics of the boundary layer will be made by single lidar
