In this study, we analyze the distribution decisions of a company operating in the automotive sector. The two subproblems discussed are: (i) how to locate distribution centers that will operate as cross-dock points to minimize the total distribution costs, (ii) to design a decision support system to determine the daily routes and truck-load mixes. Two mixed integer programming models are solved for this purpose. For the distribution center location problem, different harbors are found optimal for different scenarios and potential savings are evaluated. It is observed that daily truck-loading decisions are given with nearly the same costs but in a more rapid, accurate, and a systematic manner. The proposed decision support system does not only eliminate the dependence on the experience of the staff but also provide flexibility in truck-loading decision
