On the two dimensional problem of a cylindrical stamp pressed into a thin elastic layer
An asymptotic solution is found for the contact problem of a rigid cylindrical stamp and a very thin elastic layer. In the solution terms of exponential decrease are neglected consistently. Two cases are considered: a layer which is fixed to a rigid base and a layer which can slide without friction along the base. Compressible and incompressible materials are treated
