Telesna samopodoba in samospoštovanje sta pomembna vidika telesnega in duševnega stanja posameznika, saj predstavljata medsebojno povezano celoto. Prekomerna prehranjenost posameznikov pomeni problem sodobnega časa. Skrb za svoje telo, negovanje, vzdrževanje ter upoštevanje prehrambenih navad, ki so telesu in zdravju prijazne, pomenijo naklonjenost telesu, so ključnega pomena in sestavni del celotnega pozitivnega odnosa do sebe.Physical self-esteem and self-respect are important aspects of physical and mental well-being of an individual, as they represent an interconnected entirety. Excessive nutrition of individuals is a modern-time problem. Caring for your own body, nurturing it, and upkeeping and respecting dietary habits, which are good for your body and health means having affection for your body and are of key importance and a key ingredient for a positive relationship with your body
