Teenagers and their attitude toward alcohol

Abstract

Rezultati so obdelani in prikazani s pomočjo grafov. According to the amount of alcohol consumation Slovenia is on the top of the european scale. The alcohol is reachable everywhere and it is quite cheap. Drinking alcohol in Slovenia represents a part of a tradition that cannot be eradicated, so the fact that alcohol is very wide-spread among the youth is no surprise. The young often drink it with the purpose of being drunk. My diploma contains two parts: an empirical and a theoretical part. In the theoretical part the period of adolescence, the features of alcohol, its abuses and the sindrom of addiction are represented. After that follows a chapter that focuses on consumption of alcohol among youth, which represents one of the basic problems of today\u27s society as alcohol is blocking the healthy development and disables the productive future of the youth. It contains also a description of the theoretical model of nursing care adapted from Hildegard E. Peplau and prevention on the field of alcohol problems in which the key to healthy life lies. In the empirical part the relation of the youth to alcohol is represented. The investigation was made on the primary school Muta in June 2009. I was wondering in what range the primary school children are drinking alcohol and if they are aware of the consequences and risks that their actions are causing. I used the descriptive working method and an anonymous questionnaire. I processed and represented the results with the help of charts. I found out, that the youth\u27s reach after alcohol very early and that many of them were already drunk. I also checked the efficiency of the institution for limited consumption of alcohol and the result was that it is not efficient enough because the young get alcohol almost without any problems. The percentage of youths that are looking for a fast relaxation and are intentionally drunk is very high. Further on I found out that the youths are not informed enough about the negative consequences of alcohol consumption, thus the medical educational branch on this area should be enhanced
